Your app sounds good and after your explanation I think I will try it. But I would not put one byte of any of my data on the cloud. Apple, google, facebook, they all are in bed with the alphabet agencies and have been for many years. I don't trust them.
I use Gun Log SPC for my own data. I do not use Gun Log +P because I do not want my data in the cloud.

Gun Log is the most "locked down" of the apps. It does not integrate with email, printing, or iCloud. None of the apps use the GPS.

Gun Log SPC has the ability to email and print directly from the app.

Gun Log +P emails, prints, and syncs with iCloud.

I am setting up my very first reloading press right now. My brother has always done the reloading in the family and has shown me how, so now it is my turn.

      sirgilligan,
I have been using Gun Log +P but have the older version that is not iCloud enabled. I purposely have not updated the app to avoid iCloud. I'll check out the Gun Log SPC version. Is there any data transfer ability between the apps? Maybe an ODBC driver for SQLite?

I primarily use the app to log ammo inventory and rounds fired per firearm. That requires you to enter basic firearm data, which you can nickname if you like. Serial numbers are not required.

To the OP's question of "am I paranoid", I think the only reason to be concerned with firearm data on your phone is if it is lost or stolen. The most obvious (and likely easiest) way for the government to obtain info on what firearms we all have is to start with the DROS data. If they wanted to confiscate, they would likely start with DROS data, sorted by who has the most firearms purchased. I'm sure I would be much farther down that list than many of you tin foil hat wearers.

Send me a PM and I will hook you up. I think I have answered the OP's concerns, I don't want to get into trouble on the forum by turning this thread into a promotional ad.
