    Beretta 92fs

What do you guys think of building an 80% frame for the beretta 92fs?

I also have the cnc prgrams and the 3d model already.

Tell me your thoughts in the description.

Not really that popular of an idea.

Why not make one for something people will actually want?

I think there's enough machining operations in that frame that you're going to have a rather difficult time making a profit. To get actual volume production, you're going to probably need to have at least 4 machines with fixtures set up for different operations.

            a lot more parts then a 1911.

ide go with a more simple design

If the military is trying to run away from the Beretta 92 it might not be a good 80% design to build. There is several SIG designs out there and definitely a better design and a bit easier to machine.

I think it would be cool to have an 80% beretta frame that could be finished on a manual mill. Go for it and keep price under $200 with jig at $100 or less and I will buy one.

                  Let's see what others think.

I do not know much about the beretta just wanted to know if there was any hate towards it?

And if it is a good idea to make an 80 frame.

if the price was right I would consider adding another 92FS to my safe, can't have too many of those wonderful toys.

Seems to me not a lot of people like the idea
I thought whats just another gun to build?

Don't get me wrong - I love my 92FS, it's like an extension of my hand - but it's not the simplest gun to make. Beretta can do it economically only because they have a massive capital investment in tooling. You, presumably, do not.

In fact, volume production almost ANY 80% receiver of any sort, as a profit-making venture, is out of reach of anyone that doesn't have at least a quarter of a million dollars invested in tooling. Minimum.

But if we could get a big company that already has that capital invested like KTO. It wouldn't be such a big deal for them to make it except for the fact he has to get it approved by the ATF.

I know people want them, but you don't have an understanding of how low the volume would be and how much machining work it would be to make them in quantity. It would not be reasonable without some top of the line equipment.

After the last 1911s and sigs, I'll never buy anything KTO makes again. If someone was going to make these, I would NEVER preorder one and I'd expect to see a sample first for approval.
