    Problems with Ammo Bros. Ontario

    Delete thread Problem solved

Anyone ever have problems, with any transactions or doing business with Ammo Bros. In Ontario, I recently did a purchase and have not had the rifle shipped to my FFL since June 21. I have contacted them many times over the phone and have been given the run around. Even speaking to the manager has been a tedious task. I live is Nor-Cal and saw an advertisement here on Cal guns and mentioning The Cal Guns post got a $50 dollar discount.
    Any info would be appreciated.

You should try posting in there vendor forum. They are one of the better stores here in socal. Either there is something wrong with paperwork or its been out of stock.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

The owner may be a good guy, but I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AMMO BROS. Story: January following the school shooting on the east coast I call AB in Ontario and ask if they have ARs. I find out price, haul butt down there and there is a LONG line. I'm 2 people away from the counter and they swap prices on ARs as I am standing in line. I finally get to counter, state I drove 40 minutes and was quoted a price, their response "this is the new price, if you're not willing to pay it they are [long line] so I pass". I will never do business with them. Bottom Line, avoid them at ALL cost. Since then I have bought 12-15 firearms mostly long arms and I'm happy to report even when doing PPT I have avoided them.

They are known for gouging but many stores did/do that. Other than that they are ok. There is a shop or two I don't use though because of how opportunistic and gougy they got.

I am happy to report that Ammo Bros. has resolved my issue and my rifle has been delivered to my FFL.

It was not my intention to bring negative comments to Ammo Bros. rather to gather information on other experiences with them.

Thanks to RR for you input and contact to help the situation.

              Hey guys,

I am just seeing this now as it was not posted in our forum. Another user here actually sent me the link so I could help out. I do see that the firearm has been delivered so I'm glad it was taken care of.

I apologize for the untimely delivery of your rifle. Apparently UPS held the rifle for investigation, and when they realized everything was on the up and up they blamed us because we did not purchase signature confirmation for a firearm delivery. What they didn't realize is that we are smarter than them and told them the firearm was being delivered to a business, and UPS' policy is to take a signature at every business delivery regardless of the items being delivered. Of course they don't like us telling them what their policy is, but they then shipped the package next day air.

If you ever experience another issue with tracking down some information or need help with a store issue, please do not hesitate to send me a PM or you can also post in our forum, which is usually checked daily.

Ammo Bros in Ontario will never get a penny from me. My dad came and visited me in Texas and we shot lots of guns. He fell in love with my Les Baer and my Sig 220 X6. I suggested that as he is practically new to firearms (minus a tour in Vietnam) that he go with a Sig 220 Carry SAO (which was on the roster at the time) because it has an almost 1911 trigger but is far less picky with ammo and requires far less maintenance.

After returning to CA, he goes to Ammo Bros and they convince him to just get a regular Sig 220 Combat (DA/SA). Nothing against the Combat, its a fine pistol but he went in there for the 220 Carry SAO. **** Ammo Bros for taking advantage of my dad.

And in case you couldn't tell from my guns, I make a lot of business for my LGS of choice. My FFL here in Texas knows my birthday I do so many 4473s with him. Now that Im 2 weeks from moving back to California, I can promise you I will find another LGS to patronize

I wish you would have expressed your concern to me sooner. I may have been able to do something about getting him the firearm you suggested. Unfortunately it has been more than a year and a half since the 220 SAO fell off roster so this transaction had to have happened at least that long ago.

Also because of the length of time from then till now, I won't be able to get a clear account from the associate that helped him, if that person even still works for us. Only thing I could think is he came in asking for the SAO and it wasn't a gun we ever stocked. The associate showed him some other options in the 220 line and he chose to purchase the combat. I don't believe it is fair to say we took advantage of him. He may not have expressed the reasons you wanted him to get the SAO.

Again I don't know exactly what happened and I may never know. I do apologize that he didn't get the gun you wanted him to get. If you feel there is anything I can do to help either of you please send me a PM and we can discuss this further.

FWIW, Ammo bros ontario cheerfully let me test and sold me my HSC without any pressure to buy a gun there.

right off the DOJ roster at 7:40pm today

P220R Carry SAO (Blued) / Stainless Steel, Alloy Pistol 3.9" .45 ACP 6/23/2015

He bought the Combat around Dec 19-27 of 2013. Ill admit, Im to blame for not making it more clear to my dad what to look for when I talked to him over the phone but I know he asked for the SAO model and I know it could have been FFL'ed in.

I've never had anything but cheerful helpful service from them. I wish the store was closer to me.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

The Cerritos location is good but I can't stand the Ontario one. I was had to wait 30 minutes to get an end plate because the gunsmith was test firing while everybody on the other side was standing around and leaning on the counters. They wouldn't even walk to the other side and look for the part. If I didn't need the part right then I would have walked out.

Ah, I see where I went wrong. By you saying it was on the roster "at the time", I thought it was one that had already fallen off. The last one that fell off was the two tone back in February of 2013.

I can work on getting a trade set up for him and getting him the SAO that is on roster. Or if he'd like to keep the combat I can get him an unbeatable deal on the SAO.

                            Please let me know.
