Two decent AK's or one nice one?

Generally speaking, I will always choose quality over quantity.

But, if I was in a situation, lets say, where I needed to outfit myself or the family for the zombie apocalypse and I had a pistol budget of $1300 ish, then I would probably buy 2 M&P's/Glocks over a single nice 1911. This would enable me to arm more of the family and have backup in case one gun went down.

Assuming, however, that you have your bases covered for the apocalypse and such, then get a really nice AK.

There is a big difference between quality and just plain expensive. If you can get two guns that meet your needs, or one that far exceeds them and you will never use the performance, why just get one? It's like someone buying a truck, spending half again as much money getting it boosted, lifted, bigger tires, all that ****, and then never taking off highway. If a person needs it, good, if not, then they just look like a fool.

Nothing against a good 1911 though ;-)

Whats the difference between a decent AK and a nice one? Accuracy, reliability, or just fit and finish?

Milled AK's are smooth, have excellent accuracy (Far more accurate than you'd think) and have nice finishes. (At least the high end ones). I can easily justify buying a $1200+ Arsenal SAM7 and I have already, and I will tell you that there simply isn't another AK out there that comes close to it. I've got a PSO 3-9x on it and I can ring steel at 400 all day with it, no problem.

two AK's and add an SKS, or if you have an SKS why would you need two AK's?

If you have an AK, you don't need an SKS...

Two is one, and one is none.

Honestly to me an AK is an AK. I never got into that premium AK thing.


I personally would rather have a nice AK47 and a 74 or a few variations of AK types than one nice expensive 47/74.. But that's just me.


To me as long as it's shoots and looks how it should it's good for me. It's known for being the ugliest most rugged rough cut gun even, why buy a premadana about one.
