    FedEx and ammo delivery

If you're not home when FedEx delivers ammo, BE SURE your local FedEx office can hold it for you for pickup. I tried this option, only to have my ammo bounce around two different FedEx offices for 5 days. Online tracking info was inconsistent and ultimately just said "not available."

When I called my local office, they had no idea where my package was. When I mentioned it was ammo, the man said, "oh, it's ammo? it's not supposed to be here, but it is." No calls or emails to me even though that info was previously provided to FedEx at time of hold request. I told the man I would be there immediately.

10 minutes later, I was told the ammo was not there. However, I saw an employee with my package. He was on the phone with his "customer service department trying to figure out what to do with the ammunition because they weren't supposed to receive it."

I got the ammo But again . . . be sure your local FedEx office can hold it!

Still waiting for them to reimburse me for a package that they either never delivered or left in front of my house and it got stolen.
    It's been two weeks already.

Fedex gave me attitude and misinformation on shipping ammo years ago, never went back. In meantime gave UPS thousands in business. UPS isn't perfect but I don't get attitude. One time did use Fedex for mailing 2 handguns had no problems that time.

I got a FedEx ammo delivery today left at my door from Bass Pro, no issues. And I didn't do anything special. I admit, I never use them, mostly UPS, but not issues the few times I have.

One time FedEx was scheduled to deliver ammo to my house on Saturday, after two missed deliveries because I wasn't home. I waited at home all day long because after a third missed delivery I would have to drive 50 miles to their delivery hub to pick it up. I heard a truck in the driveway, saw a guy run up to my door, slap a note on my door, run back to his truck and start to drive off without leaving the box. I ran down the street after the truck and he finally pulled over. He gave the excuse that he thought I wasn't home, even though he didn't knock or ring the doorbell. I went to their website and filed a complaint.

I work at Fedex Office in shipping. None of the Fedex Office locations can accept ammo, it's corporate policy. As far as shipping ammo or firearms from an Office location our book of what we can and can't ship says firearms and ammo are a big NO and in tiny lettering an exception for shipping a firearm to manufactor or dealer, but no holds for either.

Considering my package has the word "AMMUNITION" printed in bold black letters all over it - and that it was picked up from a vendor with the word AMMO in its name - it would have been nice for some FedEx employee to pass that info along during the "hold request" (which wasn't rejected when made)

Or, during the time a package clearly marked AMMUNITION sat in a FedEx office, it would have been simple enough to call, email or text the intended recipient. After all, I left a phone number and email address with my hold request. Plus, the package had my name, address and tracking number on it.

Five days for it to bounce around? Unacceptable. Again, even after telling the employee I WOULD BE RIGHT THERE TO PICK UP MY PACKAGE, some other guy was calling to figure out what to do with it. Who knows what would have happened had I not arrived within minutes or not seen the box - again, a box with the big fat word AMMUNITION printed on it.

I had an AK sent back to me from the gunsmith. Because they were going to ship it to my home with signature required and no one would've been available during the date of delivery, I had it re-routed to a FedEx Office location. I had no issues. FedEx tracking even showed when it was ready for a pick up.

No one asked what evil the package contained. Don't ask, don't tell. Just insure for the full amount.

I just called Fedex corporate and he said my local fedex that i requested "Hold AT Location," can accept ammo shipments. So there is definitely a disconnect in your corporate policy. We'll see what bs happens when the shipment arrives.

I used to work for FedEx Express. There are so many divisions within the FedEx Corporation that it can get confusing to regular folks. Express is actually the "real" company whereas Ground, Home Delivery, Freight, Office are just basically contractors. I guess they all have their own little rules. I know for sure you can have ammo held at "Express" service centers and not at an "Office."

I'm sick and tired of lazy FedEx and UPS who can't even knock or ring the doorbell. I've personally witnessed them drop a package and leave without even trying to notify me. Com'on, at least give me a heads up to look on my porch (as we typically enter/leave through the garage).

They usually drop my stuff at my gate, which is not visible and 1000ft from the house. I have given them the gate code many, many times, and they are just too lazy to bring it inside.
Once they even left it at my old workplace, even though I had my home address on it(recognized the name?). Fortunately one of the guys still there knew me and kept it, but he didn't have my number so he couldn't call. Called Fedex and *****ed at them since tracking said it was delivered and signed for, and they had to call the driver to find out where he left it.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

Who are you guys buying from? I'm in a more worse situation than you guys - 2 streets down the road, another house has the same number as ours. So our letters, packages sometimes get mixed up with theirs. Obviously, the delivery people don't read the street very carefully. UPS & FedEx also have a bad habit of leaving packages without ringing the bell or notifying us. Then I get an email, package is delivered.

Last week ordered a small amount of ammo from SG Ammo, and got an email from UPS it's delivered....but it's no where to be found. Contacted SG Ammo, and they've left it up to me to go house to house in the neighborhood and ask, and also contact UPS. Apparently, they haven't shown any initiative on their side. Here's the reply I got to my email -

It's showing in our system delivered. Did you not get this order? Please ask around the neighborhood to see if it was delivered to someone. And also check with UPS.

Has anyone here ever got an insurance loss/damage claim paid by FedEX? I've shipped in my biz for over 30 years and never, ever got a dime back from those crooks.

                              UPS, pays EVERY TIME!
