People in a bar with guns is not a good idea. Crap happens in a bar that has nothing to do with being able to shoot in the range, pissing contests in a bar can result in a fight, a fight results in using what ever you have around you to even the score. If that happens to be the gun you have with you, the range rules will not keep you from getting your gun out.
Have you ever been to a gun club that has a club-house that serves alcohol? I have, plenty of times. Richmond Rod and Gun has a bar in their clubhouse, never once have I ever seen ANYONE with a gun in there, and I am pretty certain that it would never be allowed.

Don't be the person who states "Law abiding Citizens," and then immediately turn around to say "Oh wait, no, they will do stupid ****." We are pretty good at self policing as a community. I've never seen a fight or heated arguments, and this is right after a competitive match.

Boy you guys that are against serving alcohol at the range sounds like the same logic the anti gun people use. If they don't serve alcohol at the range it will keep people from drinking and shooting. If they take away the guns it will keep people from killing people with guns.

If people are going to drink and shoot they will just go to a bar before they go to the range. It sounds like the range will have systems in place to keep people from shooting after they have been to the bar at the range.

I saw this somewhere and they interviewed the owner. What they do is scan your ID if you go into the bar area. The scanner flags you for the balance of the day as not allowed in the range area where all ID's are scanned before entry, not even as a spectator. Also, the bar is a gun-free zone.

It seems like this is a fairly fool-proof way to prevent a "Handgun & Hard Liquor" party.

Oaktree allows the shotgunners to rack their guns in the restaurant/bar area.

I don't see a problem with letting people exercise their freedom to drink alcohol at the range as long as there are some common sense rules and checks to keep them from doing anything stupid.

            Did I sound anti enough?
It sounds like the range is making an effort to keep people from shooting after drinking. Like others said, where there is a will there is a way. People will drink and shoot if they really want to.

WEGC allows alcohol on the range, but you have to put the guns away for the day before drinking. The back range is members and their guest with no RO's. We police ourselves. I have only seen alcohol on the range after a big competition when many people were waiting around for scores to be posted. There are no concessions, so you have to bring what you want anyway. Personally, I don't see a point to drinking while out at locations like that. I will not drink and drive and I usually drive myself.

If I am done shooting, I am likely to just go home and have a drink, if that is what I desire. I suppose I could have a drink while I scrounge for lead and brass, but I am a light weight and don't have a breathalyzer, so I play it on the safe side. At home I can relax while processing some brass or cleaning a gun and have my drink. I don't need it that bad. Drinking at a restaurant is usually out for me, unless I ride with someone.

Other people may enjoy a drink or two after shooting. Hopefully they have a designated driver or hang out long enough to be safe to drive (preferably well below the legal limit or at 0 blood alcohol). I hope it works out well for the range.

IMO unless the patron's of this establishment took a cab or had a DD, driving home will be a problem or not as Idk what there legal limit is, sure they have one though...

Guns and Beer dont mix. I was taught that a long time ago. I've never been out shooting with friends and had beers/alcohol. I cant operate a vehicle safely with alcohol onboard the same should go with a firearm. Both can be deadly if miss used.

Let's not create an issue where it does not exist.

Waterford sportsman club in Waterford CA allowed you to bring your own booze and drink at your vehicle but they stopped that real quick after an incident, so im told.

I am not for drinking booze of any kind and shooting.
I also see no need to have it after then get into a car/truck/etc and drive. Even if it was drunk after shooting the media would spin a connection between drinking and shooting.

I have a thing about people drinking and driving. Before anyone jumps on me wait until you loose a couple of friends/family due to drunks hitting them. Then you have the chance to voice yourself with a different perspective.

I agree completely with this statement; it is however very misleading as far as the issue under discussion goes. No one here said anything about "drinking and shooting". The issue is having a cold beer or a glass of wine AFTER enjoying a day at the range. Let's keep this in perspective. The anti's play enough word games with our rights, let's not give them any ammunition - - yes pun intended.
