I think by allowing alcohol at the range will open a can of worms, but if they don't allow those that consume to drink, thats good. But what if the person thats under the influence gets irate and takes a gun from someone else and goes to town? We then have a problem. Also, you can't stop everything from happening, because people can get "loaded" no pun intended, before they go to the range. I feel the 2 things should be kept apart. -

Done correctly, it's fine. Obviously you put a system in place to ensure that once people have a drink, they're not allowed back out on the range. It's no different than hitting the bar across the street or down the road on the way home from the range. Same/Same."Kestryll I wanna lick your doughnut."

Nothing wrong with a business trying to add another product or service for its customers to purchase. This opens them up to being able to get more money from that group of guys that just finished shooting and were going to go to lunch after."Suck on my machine gun" (Ted Nugent)

Not a good idea, but I know some people that enjoy drinking and shooting skeet on their private propertyComment

Of course it is different. Does the bar across the street allow you to bring in your guns, even in a locked container, set it beside you and serve booze?
People in a bar with guns is not a good idea. Crap happens in a bar that has nothing to do with being able to shoot in the range, pissing contests in a bar can result in a fight, a fight results in using what ever you have around you to even the score. If that happens to be the gun you have with you, the range rules will not keep you from getting your gun out.I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.Comment

I do not see it as an issue in any sense. As mentioned, Oak Tree has a very nice club house/snack bar with beer and wine available. They have a strict policy of serving alcohol only after the guns are put away. Never been an issue. A cold beer with a burger is a nice way to end the day.
Let's not create an issue where it does not exist.Last edited by 003; 05-29-2014, 12:44 PM.Comment

Keep in mind, this is Oklahoma where it's 3.2 beer. Not giving an opinion one way or the other - but beer there is pretty weak.Comment
