My sister sent me the article above as a response to my repeated comments whenever she posts anti-gun stuff on facebook.
She asked me to read it with an open mind.. I haven't responded to her yet.

My response will include the right of a woman to defend herself against a larger assailant (as my sis is a feminist.)
Also, that firearm ownership is important for future Americans to defend against tyranny.

Well the good news is that the article is 100% garbage based on the title alone. The Australians didn't "give back" their guns, they handed over their private property to the government for destruction. They weren't guns that the government had issued to the subjects of state.

This isn't a comparison of all nations. It is just comparing member states of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development.

Its good to look in reverse too. If someone is holding up, say, the UK murder rate as an example of good gun control... the UK had a low murder rate before their gun control.

I want the author of that to go to certain towns in Australia and walk certain streets wearing a New Zealand Soccer Jersey during the opening days of World Cup. I beleive the author will get a education thaf gun control does not keep guns out of the hands of criminals.
