I had quite the opposite experience buying a handgun from Iron Sights.

When I bought my SP-01 from them my license had an old address on it, so I brought DMV reg.'s from two different vehicles.

The girl that was helping me wasn't sure if that was okay, so she asked the boss and he said "Yes, that's fine" and we proceeded with the transaction.

They also usually offer me a nice cold bottle of water when it's busy and I've had to wait for a transaction.

They've always been very courteous and friendly to me, and seem a little more knowledgeable than a lot of other shops, and none of that infamous "Gun store counter attitude" some places are known for.

I would shop there a lot more if they weren't so far from my house. (and if I had more money)
Too many hobbies, Too little time.

    Mind you, I'm 5'7", 180, with a visible Ab...

Bottom line is it's their shop, you follow their rules or go somewhere else.

They are under the cruel scrutiny of State and Federal agencies that often have employees that don't know their jobs. When they come to audit they tell the FFLs all sorts of godawful stuff that is not part of laws and regulations. FFLs gotta say "Yessir" or have their license, business and livelihood threatened or even criminal charges brought. At the very least this means thousands of dollars in lawyer fees.
      .
Exactly... and that's exactly what I'll do in the future. I can't/won't change their policies. I can respect the fact that they have an FFL to worry about, but if the law says 10 days/240 hours then that's what they should adhere to IMO. Same with documentation. If that's what the books say then by all means, adhere to the law. Don't make up your own extra little rules and regulations though to exceed what is written as law though. Not like they get extra credit, or bonus points by DOJ for making people wait a day longer than they have to.

I bought a hunting rifle not even a month ago at another FFL and they did not require it. I thought it was only required for pistol transactions.

Am I just off and this is required, or are they requesting more information that is required? Store policy? I'd love to know.
last time I read the rules; you needed a second gov issued form of ID IF your DL didn't match your current address.

Right... except my DL has my current address.
