I realize I'm new here (just came to this site after hearing about it at Del Mar gun show recently) but it's obvious there are a few people on here that are here for no other reason than to stir up trouble.
The vast majority seem to be like me, honest law-abiding citizens that believe in the 2nd Amendment and want to exercise that right, but there are some I suspect (already) are not like us and their sole intent is to paint calguns.net in a very bad light.
In the brief time I've spent reading many of the threads, I've noticed some posts are deliberate in painting all of us in a bad light. While everyone is entitled to their opinion (unlike a hypocrite, I also support the 1st Amendment 100%), it's obvious the posts are political hand grenades. I've been silent so far (being new and all) but this post needs to be called out.
dragonboy221, I don't know you and you've been a member here a lot longer than I have, but your Mexican question was ridiculous. All it does is serve the anti-gun crowd (who you can bet are watching this forum) political ammunition to use against us.
"Yeah I went on that calguns site and they are nothing but racists." I can see it right now.
dragonboy221, whether you are a racist or not, you are a voice in the crowd and you allow our opposition to group us all. What exactly is your motive for asking that question? Do you even stop to think the impact your post has on all of us?
If you are on our side, you will stop to think next time.
If not, quit pretending to be.

That's not my point michael. I actually like being on a forum where there is healthy debate on every side of an issue. Actually my real intent on being here was to chat with my fellow gun owners and get factual information that is otherwise difficult to get thanks to our liberal anti-gun media. I never came here intending to get into long debates but I had to say something when it's obvious that many others don't see it.
I was clear in my post that deception is the real issue. If you get on here and debate in favor of gun control - fine. You aren't pretending to be pro gun and then posting things that help the other side more than our side. Stuff like asking if he was Mexican. That kind of crap is the norm on comment pages and political forums because one cannot pick on the whole site (by grouping all members) if there is considerable diversity on the site.
On the other hand, this site is run by pro-gun advocates and overwhelmingly populated with the same crowd. If you notice, there aren't many on here that are anti-gun. It seems 99% of the members here are gun enthusiasts like myself.
When someone posts on here and says something that provides ammunition for the anti-gun crowd, I just want to point out the potential damage it can do especially if the person posting appears to be pro-gun. Like I said before, asking if he was Mexican. It may not appear to be racially motivated, but it taints the appearance of the entire site as being racist. Give the left an inch and they take a mile.
The only reason I make an issue of this is that I have been on tons of political forums and even ran one and all it takes is few bad oranges, pretending to be apples, to ruin the whole barrel.sigpic"A gun is like a parachute, if you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."Comment

^^^^ truth be told...MYOB
This is why you need to CCW?
If he's a raving paranoid lunatic with a gun that decides you're a deadly threat, I doubt you'll get a formal announcement of intentions.
If his paranoia is justified because of threats he's received and he's prohibited from LEGALLY owning a gun, then the store explained it and he's got to do what he's got to do.
Do you seriously think that only citizens with spotless records need to protect themselves and their families?
We're in the Wild West and always have been. Sadly, the reason you need a CCW is because you care about the law while the majority of people carrying a weapon, don't.NRA Member
