You didn't see the news report of people having their cars broken into, when they evac'ed to a hotel and left stuff in their vehicles? The one I saw reported someone broke into an SUV and took 2 safes plus other stuff.

Remember, the scumbags of society take advantage of every bad situation.

Most Holiday Inn's have safes in every room. You could probably fit 4-5 pistols in there.

Room safes are a joke. Look on YouTube and you'll see just how easy they are to open without causing any damage.

I'd bring a thick steel cable (like a bike lock) that's looped at both ends, and two padlocks. Loop the cable around something secure, then (assuming you have lock openings at the ends of the case) lock the case with the loops through the padlocks. I've done that before and it's pretty damn secure, especially if you do it under the bed.

I always take a small padlock for a suitcase. Keep the gun in the locked suitcase in the closet. Turn the suitcase so the lock is facing the wall. The cleaning people will not take a second look.
Oh yeah, do not puut any gun related stickers on your suitcase. In fact, leave it 100% plain.
If you do not advertise you have guns, nobody will look for them.

I hunt out of state and always take my firearms into my room. Never had a problem.
A large group of us went to Reno and stayed at a big hotel and they locked up our 30+ gun cases in their security room. No problems and they were very nice about it. We did not want to lug them up to our rooms. I did take a couple of pistols to my room.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I have large dufflebags so I can carry more at once and then the cases don't scream rifle.

Also great for transporting when going shooting if you have an open truck bed like we do.. Plus you can lock the duffle bag.

I brought 3 ar's when I was staying at the Ritz Carlton in SF. I didn't want to leave them in the car with the valet. They were in FDE cases totally non-discreet and even had the bell boy bring them up to the room. They never said anything.

I went to Atlantis casino I'm reno last weekend. I called ahead and asked the receptionist. Not a good response. " I don't think so" if I recall correctly. I asked to talk to security. She said okay. Dude was hella cool. Said just make sure u have them in cases. He said. "This isn't California." We showed up with 6 rifle cases . And two small bags of clothes. I was in a Tahoe and the back was filled with shooting stuff. We entered and exited that place once a day with those rifle cases. Not one problem. Bellhop was really cool. We had 8500 bucks worth of guns.

I know one female leo that went to vegas and had her duty gun in a locked briefcase size hard case. The clerk saw it and asked, the female leo confirmed what it was and showed creds. The hotel had a no gun policy except for leos, she was escorted to her room by security, and told to leave it in the safe until check out.

When i travel with long guns i bring a golf club hard case. It fits multiple long guns and handguns, if they are in soft gun socks/sleeves. No one is the wiser, but it does get heavy. Plus its lockable and goes into the room closet.
