PS90 would not be a good choice since it's 5.7 and that ammo is expensive and can be hard to find, but the mag system on that gun is awesome.

fs2000 is pretty nice but in CA it's kind of a waste, so the extra expense doesn't really seem worth it.

AUG and Tavor are both highly regarded, plus the Tavor has dropped in price a lot. I see them online for a little over $1600.

I would go AUG just for kicks, but Tavor will be more versatile and likely serve you better in the long run.

Thanks a lot guys. Keep it coming.

BTW, why is fs2000 a waste here in CA?

Ahh I left you in suspense when I should have explained

First, I really like the fs2000 and have lusted over them for years. However in CA I've seen only pictures of them with fake cans or extra long flash hiders to meet overall length of 30". Also the mag lock seems really awkward since it's a small hole in the bottom of the mag release. (I believe it requires a small tool and doesn't use a bullet)

I just couldn't spend $2,000+ on that rifle with those requirements, though the situation may be different now.

My wife will kill me. Since I started January, I bought quite a lot. Those 4 are the rifles that are still on my list.

                    Thanks.

For me the tavor hype train has passed. I have no desire to own one these days. I would go with ps90 with matching fn five seven
Do I look like I'm ready for homework?

Do you have a nice bolt gun yet? It is very fun shooting longer distance and your ammo lasts longer

How about some classics, like a Garand or M14 clone? I'd rather have one M14 from LRB Arms than all four of the guns you mentioned.

A nice bronze receiver lever action with octagon barrel would be awesome too

                            Good point. Will consider that.

No bolt gun yet but I bought an m1a here for my son so that's a different long range rifle. Maybe a garand is next to match the m1a. Thanks.
