Oh and "California not welcome" I have lots of family in Oregon, they all say the same thing; "As long as they don't tell me how things should be, and they come here because they like the way it is already. It's ok then."

I was out in Tillamook and saw several people open carry, I was so tempted but didn't bring a holster, damn it, next time.

While traveling in other parts of Oregon, not so much, but it was cool to see what seemed to me like kids holstering their weapons, if you want to know specifically where, it was while taking a tour of the Tillamook Cheese Factory, haha. Mmmmm...cheeeeeeese!

Why. Because without receipts doj would likely arrest unless he is leo. Like they did the people on I 80

What is your basis to believe that there were folks recently arrested on I-80 by DOJ? If there is a news report to that effect, please post a link. I'd like to know the details.

I did read of a DOJ arrest on I-80 around two years ago. In that case agents observed the individual purchase large-capacity magazines at the Reno Gun Show, and then used that observation as PC to stop the vehicle once in California. It's kind hard to argue that one possessed a magazine prior to 1999 when observed just purchasing it in Reno.

You should make copies of said receipt and keep them. Maybe have them notarized to verify they are copies of an original and actually belong to you. You never know if you'll misplace the originals.

Also to the guy that brought up google(too lazy to quote): yes he could have googled the question but most times it's easier to get an answer here if you can't get a clear one through google. In fact he could compare both answers. When I google firearm related questions most often they refer back to Calguns anyways.

Link please. I'm calling bullsh*t. That happened over two years ago. On top of that, unless the OP just handed them his standard cap magazines during a traffic stop, how would they know they were in his possession? And I have plenty of standard capacity magazines that I take with me all over the place, in and out of the state.

It isn't illegal to possess them, and there is no requirement to show they were in my possession prior to 2000, so exactly which DA is going to prosecute me for a law that isn't being violated? If you choose to run around scared of your own shadow, fine. Just don't push that crap on the everyone else. And like I said, show me proof where someone was arrested two weeks ago coming back from Reno for possession of hi-caps.

I don't see how showing someone a receipt that shows the purchase of magazines 20 years ago proves that these are those same magazines.

I often travel to AZ and back with my 20 & 30rd mags. I don't get nervous or scared, if a LEO is gonna fucc with me, hes going to fucc with me regardless. Imma do what imma do, so long as im within the law.

A free state overall. It is wonderful to leave California and go somewhere free for a while.

Oregon has just about no state gun laws. I mean not in the way we think of them. There are almost no restraints on a law abiding citizens ability to acquire or keep any type of Title I firearm, magazine or accessory. Federal law applies to Title II stuff, but the state isn't involved in that aside from sign offs. You have to have a permit to conceal a firearm.

Portlandia has some of its own rubbish. Just stay out of there.

                                Otherwise your good.
