None of firearms can be prohibited in CA.
So any of them with restricted features must be modified to be CA legal or sold before being brought into CA.

Federal laws requires firearm transfers between residents of different States to be transferred through a FFL dealer in the recipient's State of residence. There is no gift exemption to the Federal laws, there is a bequest/inheritance exemption but that requires the giver to be dead and the deceased's will to indicate that the receiver is bequeathed the firearms.

So, if the firearms are an "inheritance" and your uncle is still alive, then the firearms must be transferred (4473/DROS/10 day wait) to you through a CA FFL dealer.

If you are just transporting the firearms for your uncle, then the firearms need to be unloaded and in locked containers.
After your uncle establishes residency in CA, he has 60 days to register all the firearms that were brought into CA by submitting a New Resident Firearm Ownership Report to CA DOJ.

It is illegal to bring any large capacity (11+ round) magazines into CA.
It is also illegal to bring any large capacity magazine parts kits into CA.

Therefore, you will need to sell the large capacity magazines prior to entering CA or permanently modify them to be 10 round magazines.

Unless you know how to get to Pennsylvania without crossing New York, you have another set of problems to worry about before California law.

Greenwich CT (in the little 'pan handle' of southern CT) is bordered only by New York.

Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.

What's the issue driving through new york? I know manhattan has a complete ban, but what issue does the rest of the state have?

DDs Ranch is in NY and they sell plenty of scary black rifles including those with hi-cap mags.

He can give the collection to your father, who then can give it to you.

Uncle would be father's/mother's brother - siblings are not immediate family for CA's definition, used in intrafamilial transfer.

So based on the suggestions here we are good to gp to transport the collection to CA? And then transfer the firearms via FFL .

Any other Documents besides the form he needs to fill out when he gets moves to CA? Or Do I need to have any form of documents on me while driving to CA ?
It would be a good idea not to stop in New York for anything but red lights and stop signs ...

Otherwise, obey traffic rules, lock the truck, and have a good trip. No docs I can think of are required for the transportation.

I still don't understand what laws make NY horrible to stop in besides Manhattan? How does DDs Ranch stay in business if the rest of the state is not allowed to have any "evil" firearms?

Can someone send me the link? I'll go read it or a summary if available.

I just spoke to a guy that moved here from NY and he said all the strict effed up laws were specific to Manhattan.
