It's true! You just posted all the details that I am willing to post. Oh, BTW, the lease was up a long time ago. The new owner refused to renew it. I'm just a lowly PT employee there so, at this time, I won't discuss any other details.

Will there be any closing discounts?

Does anyone know if they are planning to relocate? I have shot there on and off since the 1980's. It will be a shame to see it go. I guess that the landlord feels that having more drunks in the parking lot from the Canyon Club is a better "family-friendly" business environment.

Well, what can I say, the range appears to be closing earlier than planned due to a fire this wednesday. We can thank a fellow calgunner (I think, but without proof, I can't out him) for starting the fire by firing a tracer into the rubber backstop. It was either that or, a tracer that hit a piece of steel and went into a ducting on it's way to the roof. So, as of right now, the plan is not to spend the money repairing the structual damamge (caused by the fire dept. while ensuring the fire was out) to the building only to be forced out in a couple of months. I'll post more info when I know it. For now, the shop will remain open but, the range is probably closed for ever and I'm out of a job. I'm glad I didn't have to rely on that $8-9/hr, 0-8hrs/week job to pay my bills but, it was a fun job never the less. I better get off this thing, take a shower and head on over there for what may well be my last day working there.

It's always some idiot that ruins it for everyone else

Sorry to see them close, Shooter's Paradise looks like the only indoor Ventura County option now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you have video camera's there. You should be able to tell without a doubt if someone was firing tracers or not.

I know there has been a problem with the HVAC system there over the last few months so there is every possibility that there might have been a fire that was not nessesarily caused by someone shooting a tracer.

LA County fire investigators will definatly be able to pinpoint the source, so until there is something concrete perhaps we shouldn't point the finger at anyone or anything.

Besides, a fire at the range 90 odd days before its going to go out of business is definatly somewhat interesting as well don't ya think ??

End of the day, its too bad as that was my local range, I will miss it.
