Someone should PM him, I have ESS Supressors which are pretty darn good.

I got the prescription inserts though and discovered that the inserts are heavy and drag the glasses off my face. But the shooting glasses themselves are great. 40% off is even better.

Any recommendations for those with prescription glasses? I think it'll be safer with something that completely covers my eyes

A cap would have helped too. But now, I make sure I wear safety glasses over my glasses, or my prescription shooting glasses.

I also saw at a match, a fellow shooter looking at his brand new sunglasses with a small scratch in it from a richochet. Worse case scenario ... it would have hit him in the eye, slightly less worse if he was wearing presciption glasses, it would have scratched his glasses (and glasses are not cheap!)
Agreed. I've seen a few posts here and there with people proclaiming that their everyday prescription glasses are fine to use... bs. I've done it myself, and they don't provide proper coverage due to the lack of wrap around the face. Sure they're better than nothing, but it's still too easy for anything other than crap heading dead-on toward your eyeball to get around the lenses. Prescription glasses aren't cheap, and getting them scratched up would suck, but eyeballs are a bit more costly.

ESS crossbow. The rx inserts make the front of the glasses too heavy and they want to fall right off my face as soon as I tilt my head forward for anything unless you want to use that stupid headband strap thing they come with(it's not an issue without the rx insert, and it's not like the rx insert weighs a ton or something). The crossbow frames don't have that issue. I think I paid somewhere around $90 for the rx insert, which isn't cheap but it's not horrible either and the glasses themselves weren't terribly expensive or anything.

Wiley-X & Revision also have options for prescription. I might have to do that since contacts are really irritating me right now. Oakley lenses are suppose to be good for the range too.

Not too keen on getting prescription inserts. Was thinking of something where I can wear over my normal glasses to provide wraparound eye protection

Coocoons fitovers(I actually have a couple pair I keep handy from before I got my rx inserts for the ess). They have a PDF on their website you print at 100% size, then compare their frame shapes and sizes to your own glasses. Unfortunately they're not going to work with every pair of rx glasses out there.

Small blister is a good gentle reminder on the importance of having proper fitting eyewear.

Still had a good night though!

                  Stay safe and happy shooting!
Flip side to that story is if you didn't have all that **** on your grape the brass would have bounce right off, no harm no foul. Probably.

I got a pair of these made in my prescription. They feature side protection and have a foam padding at the top so nothing can drop down into them.

Where did you get these and what were the costs? Prescription = run it thru vsp insurance!

I paid $96 for the frames and $104 for the lenses at my local optometry center.

They are the SWRx Titmus frames. The salesperson I worked with was a shooter, and when I told him what I was looking for, he said "I know exactly what you want.", and he was right. I'm thinking about getting a couple more pairs: 1 for my emergency bag, and 1 to keep at work (going to school for Toyota auto technician).

Thanks Trench. I look into these frames to see if they'll fit my face - need wider frames.

I've got a big head too. Most glasses are uncomfortable for me. These are probably the most comfortable pair of glasses I have owned since I was in high school.
