Targets for .22 are so much cheaper, sometimes it feels like I am going into debt to shoot the bigger stuff but they are fun.

All of my targets are at least 3/8" AR500. Obviously you can go thinner and even to mild steel for .22, but I want them to last. It also gives me the option to shoot them with other calibers. If you hunt around for the deals, you can make a really nice AR500 setup for far less than the mild steel .22 options on the market.

It gets even better if you are creative with your mounting setup and are building target stands from scratch as cheap and as strong as possible. I've found you are faced with a bit of a dilemma of how strong you want your stand/hardware to be versus the cost and longevity. You then factor in weight and if it can be transported if this is a portable setup.
