Um, I've not heard of a good gunshop yet in North NorCal that has knowledgable employees or owners.

I believe the receivers are from registerred assault weapons, hence no transfer in CA. Prior to the CA aw ban Jone's Fort had probably the best collection of EBR's in Shasta County, especially FAL's, HK's and AR's.

Jone's Fort doesn't do OLL's.. so what? Lots of places don't. The Jone's are actually very knowledgeable about firearms, just not about the OLL movement. Their also big supporters of hunting/shooting charities and have been working hard on establishing a new public shooting range for a long time.

Personallly, I'm glad to call them my friends, and don't care if they don't do OLL's.

WTH does that have to do with anything?

                  This is clearly a non-FN FAL, therefore it's off-list.

And Cat III reg'd AW receivers can be deregistered.

They then can be treated like any other receiver (10/22, Rem 700, etc.)

Hell even the DOJ FAQ says this.

That's nothing. We've got dealers in Socal that won't sell rostered pistols to Californians nor would they ship to another dealer in CA.

                      Maybe they
                      A) Don't know about de-registering
                      or
                      B) Don't care to do it
At any rate its their choice to miss out on making a sale

Oh Bill, I've ranted too alot about this shop...but the brothers there ARE knowlegable. They're just forever-worry-worts and last I check didn't want a thing to do with OLL of any sort, shape or fashion.

Cant say much for the rest of the staff....as they are completely lacking: So I've given up dealing with any of them 'cept for the brothers.

It has to do with him not wanting to bother to DE-REGISTER it imho. As the firearm currently exists its a CA registerred AW. Therefore his notice of "no sales to CA residents" is appropriate, even if it doesn't please you.
