PM sent vs I'll Take it

Hello all, when buying on the market forums, what do you consider is the first in line for the item...The first to Pm sent or I'll take it?

I am curious because when I buy, I always wonder if I sent a pm, it still meant the item was forsale. pm sent to me is just expressing interest with further questions.

And... I'll take it meant I'll take it with no additional information needed and i'll buy with confidence.

I just want to hear everyone's thoughts and no I'm not bitter about a pending sale. Lol

I'll take it always trumps discussion posts and pm's.

Of course I'll take it and pm sent, but would that consider to be the first in line or just a pm sent.

It's the first PM to the seller confirming intention to buy. Doesn't matter what you post, it's the first PM

if i was a potential buyer and sent a 'PM Sent' that showed interest to purchase accompanied with questions, i don't see where i could be offended if the item was sold to another member who followed my PM Sent with a 'I'll Take It.'

As both a buyer and seller I feel "I'll take it" should be the standard for determining a commitment to buy. "PM sent" only means to me a counter-offer over list or condition that the possible buyer is proposing.

The reality is it's informal, so to each is his own. The seller could pick whom ever they want to sell the item to.

As a buyer, I typically just send a pm without ever posting in the thread.

Great feed back... I would like to hear more of what people are feeling about this subject matter.

"I'll take it" should mean that you are paying the asking price and will meet in a day or two at the FFL preferred by the seller. Too often there's an "I'll take it" followed by PMs with an offer of $50 less because he has to drive an hour, and can we wait two weeks until I get my tax return?
Somebody that will meet 5 minutes away from my house, is paying full price, and doing the transaction today will always get first priority. I also expect sellers to use the same guidelines to me.

Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Pm sent or I'll take means nothing. It's not a legal contract.

There is "I'll take it" abuse going on. You see some guy calling it right when the post comes out and then days later the seller is bumping the thread. Why force the seller to wait on/deal with some guy just staking dibs on a purchase he knows nothing about yet. Seller should be selling to the first serious buyer that he was had conversations with (even on the phone). IMO is first serious "I'll take it" (which involves more than a post on the thread) as determined by the seller.

Since forum rules state pm...I figure that's what works.

I go by time stamped genuine offers to buy via PM. If the first offer is bogus, I go down the list.

Lowballs, maybe's and more info's are noted and but the first solid 'I'll take it' via PM gets it.

What someone writes on the actual thread, I don't really pay attention to. Most of my sales have been to people that never even posted in the thread.

(I'll take it) versus (PM), ummmmmm which ever gets to the seller first and what ever one he decides to accept. Just from being here a while I have learned to ignore all low or no I-traders.
