Crossroads of the West Costa Mesa

I'm thinking of going to the show in costa mesa this weekend, but I have never been to a show before. Is it worth it to go and what kind of stuff can I expect to find there? Also, can I purchase a handgun without the usual 10 day waiting period from a gun show, and if I just bought a new handgun last week does the 30 day rule apply to the show?

You will find Guns, Parts, Magazines, Books, Banners, Stickers, Jerky, Knives, Collectables, Old trinkets, New trinkets, candy, toys, accessories for your gun, accessories for your wife, gun cases, ammunition, ammunition components, t-shirts, political activists, militaria, and the occasional back massage booth

10 day rule applies to every firearm purchased in CA. Gunshow or Not

If the handgun is PPT and not from a FFL, it is exempt from the 30 day. Gunshow or Not

Anyone know if the prices for Pelican or Hardigg cases are worth the entrance fee? I don't really need anything else at the moment.

Almost every firearm. Isn't c&r long guns and black powered exempt from this rule?

anything that is done with an FFL in between will be subject to 10 day wait

a C&R transaction between two valid and legal individuals do not require a 10 day wait as it does not go through a FFL... This is often subject to debate as gunshows tend to push for FFL transactions in attempt to avoid legal rammifications.

-Black power guns are not considered firearms, therefore are not subject to many firearm laws

Might as well go. You might find something or go on a impulsive buying spree...

There are slowly more and more EBR dealers out there now: CWS, J&J, ammo bros... so there's some guns there for you to handle and check out.

It's a good time waster, don't expect to really find any deals however. Good opportunity to stock up on some ammo from miwall.

Kansas? I know Texas has a good one. Might be the same?

Nothing like the Great Western Show that we had at the Pomona Fairgrounds.

I don't know - I've gone to the show a number of times and recently I have left underwhelmed. Sure its large, but really its the same one building full of junk 5 times over. Lots of toys, millitaria and AR parts etc. If you like more exotic stuff, HK, MSAR, Styer etc., you will find NONE. No deals on optics such as aimpoint or eotech (though lots of fakes) I was truly shocked at the lack of actual working for sale firearms at this "gunshow". If you take away all the AR uppers, lowers, parts, etc and the non functional C&R stuff, the toys, knives and other "junk" you really are better off going to a well stocked gun store to shop and feel the goods. Even the ammo at the show is only marginally below invoice (especially when you factor in gas and entrance fee).

Overall no exotics, nothing unusual, just a lot of AR and 1911 stuff.
For me, its like a BMW devotee going to a Detroit auto show.

I think at this point, I'm going merely for the bullets/powders/primers. Don't feel like paying for hazmat fee for the powders/primers.
