I've always loved guns & weapons. My drawings from 1st grade art class consisted of american planes shooting down nazi planes. When I was in 3rd & 4th grade I found a bunch of books at the library about soviet & american weapons... I think I checked them about at least once a month. That and nuclear weapons... I was probably one of the few 4th graders that could explain the basic designs of fat man & little boy. I also started carrying a pocket knife around that time... even to school. I think if I was in school today they would commit me
.
Anyway, my dad finally took me shooting when I was 12. Started me on a 30-30 & 12 gauge semi. Went hunting a bit, then stopped all together while in college (d*** tuition). Then I found this site last year, and well, I've relapsed

Please note that others have used this screen name on non-gun related sites, and I am not related to them in any way.Comment

ME TOO! (on the whole drawing airplanes stuff and soviet weapons and at around the same time!) We folded so many airplanes as well that our teacher told us that if we folded but didn't throw any more of them until the end of the year, then we could have a huge airplane throwing day... it was pretty sweet.I've always loved guns & weapons. My earliest memories of guns is probably shooting the old man in the butt with my older brother's red rider and that was around 4 or so. My old man gave me my first real lesson in gun control, hitting your target, after he got done chasing me around the fire and shooting me in the butt with the BB gun he grabbed me up and spanked me with the butt end of it. You know, I never shot him again. Been shooting, hunting, collecting ever since and I have infected plenty of people along the way.Comment

Around 1965 or 66, we used to go shooting in San Mateo hills. I have bought a couple of guns since then."I would kill for a Nobel peace prize." Steven Wright"

Shot my first .22 rifle at age 10. Bought my first gun (Ruger 10/22) when I turned 21. Have bought 2-3 per year since then. 4 more this year. Turning 51 this week. Got guns?

I was prolly 5 or 6 when I got to shoot my first gun. First time I handled guns....IDK cause they have always been around. Ne way I was a scrawney lil girl and my grandpa, dad, and mom went out with my moms new Smith and Wesson 4 inch .357 revolver, my grandpa told me to remember what he showed me and handed me the gun with a .38 wad cutter in it. Apparently I couldn't even hold the gun steady enough to aim at anything so they made me sit down and bring up my knees and rest on them. My mom sat down behind me and put her arms over mine to help steady me. I aimed and fired....dunno where I hit cause the gun flew up and hit me in the glasses. My mom grabbed the gun in 1 hand, and picked me up and spun me around while saying "OH MY GOD!" and apparently all they saw was me with a big grin on my face and I said "Grandpa re-load me! I wanna do that again!" -left a good size dent in my glasses and I still have them! -years later my parents got a divorce and my mom put a RO on my dad and all the guns went bye bye till it expired and then rarely came out....he lives in AZ now and we go shooting when we go see him, best father daughter time ever!!! Last time I was there I got a CCW, which was kind of a "right of passage" in my family. Even my 70+ year old grandma carries. My mom locked up her gun and now it sits in my step dads closet who thinks since he shot it once, he will shoot "anyone trying to get into our house" and kill em dead with 6 shots of .38 cause he doesn't like the kick of .357....its prolly ball too. I have 5 guns now and 1 OLL that my bf got me for my b-day last month (best present ever!!!) and we go shooting at least once a month....often 2-3 times and I am looking forward to moving out after school cause I feel safer with a gun by my bed.
so I guess it all started for me 16-17 years ago.....that happens when your grandpa is ex LEO and a great shot.Originally posted by DirtbikerYou're creepy old guy.

I have been into mine since age 13! I'd be lucky to ever find a gal that'd date me too.
