Moving to Phoenix, better gun laws?

I just got accepted to be a resident physician in Phx. Will be moving in June. From what I've been reading, gun laws are day and night compared to CA. It will be nice to walk into a store and walk out with something. But I will miss Calguns' marketplace and the convenience of meeting up to get things. Is there an Ariguns forum, lol?

I think I'll run down to Cabelas when I get there and buy 30-40 round mags.

Your neighbors will give you mags for house warming gifts.... I believe there is a doctors shooting group or something like that. Don't be alarmed when your patients have guns on them. I was in line at mc donalds and as this old lady was digging in her purse. A big 1911 fell out. The McDonalds Cashier just handed it back to her butt first. No one died or had a heart attack.

Great gun laws, horrible weather. Just move closer to Rim country if you can.

Haha. People would be screaming if that happened here.

I would not call the weather horrible. It gets pretty hot for about three months, but the rest of the year is pretty good IMO. I have lived in Alabama, Kentucky and Texas when I was in the Army, and all three of those places had what I would call horrible weather. It also depends where in California you are coming from.

Is this a true story? If so that is awesome. Especially the part about the cashier handing it back butt first. Did granny exercise trigger discipline upon receipt of her 1911?

Night and day about sums it up as far as AZ gun laws compared to what we have to contend with here. Good luck in AZ, enjoy the freedom. And keep up the fight for the 2A so this liberal California cancer doesn't spread, (or at least we can try to slow it down)

I was in Arizona three days ago for a week. Gun paradise. 2A Paradise. Weather is hell for June through August but is really great the rest of the year. I love it there, I want to move there. Badly.

For a second I thought I was going to be in one of those McDonalds Shootouts you see on the news. Nothing happened. I keep thinking the gun was her husbands from Korea or something. It appeared old and used.

Phoenix area or somewhere else? I just always hear people gripe about the heat and the fact people don't have pretty grass yards. Positive = No grass to mow.

Be sure to check out the Prescott area (5300 feet elevation). A different world from Phoenix. The year around weather is very similiar to that in the SFV.

My AZ house actually had grass when I bought it. I got rid of it, and now all I have to do is trim some palms once a year. Beats the hell out of my yard maintenance here in Cali.

Folks here are downplaying the Phoenix heat. Its HOT May thru October. Yes, 7 freaking months. My older kids live there and I visit every 2 months so I know, and my kids tell me so.
