hard to imagine a more uncomfortable, hard to draw from, and difficult way to carry

+ all the back injury comments above.

also doubt that any instructor (ccw or otherwise) would allow that in any training course

I personally would advise against small of back carry. Too risky for my taste. If you somehow slip or get bumped/pushed on to your back, which may very well happen in a confrontation of physical force, you can break your back. Why not IWB 3-5 o'clock or AIWB 1 o'clock?

Palm out means your draw will naturally be to the inside sweeping your body. Palm facing inside is safer but your draw will be round armed taking longer to bring up to target. I spent a few hours in front of the mirror and decided 4-5 o'clock was safer, faster and more comfortable.
Western civilization represents the pinnacle of true human progress, and we should rightly be proud of it, delusional leftists be damned.

We know it's the family and the church not government officials who know best how to create strong and loving communities. And above all else we know this, in America, we don't worship government, we worship God.

OP, really? Small of the Back is no different than a gun bag, it's a method to transport a gun, but not draw from position. Try drawing from any position, let alone a chair, or from in a car! Yea, suck, it doesn't work, DUH. You must have watched too many of episodes of Magnum PI, where he carries a 1911 small of the back, UNCRANKED!

I havent carried aside from some shooting matches. What does that mean?

            Not Cool.
The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren't enough criminals,
            one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it
becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

Small of back looks "awesome" in the "action movie" kind of way, but unless you are standing around all day wearing a jacket it is very impractical.

When sitting down the gun would be jammed into your spine.

I think small of the back is also called "Mexican carry."

"Mexican carry" is no holster, usually (only?) in the front of the pants.

No. Just say no. Been carrying about a year and a half appendix and about a year before that strong side 4 o clock. Appendix is better. Faster presentation to a threat. No bumping your gun into people when they are close. You can bend over normally. Dont have to adjust your shirt when sitting like at a restaurant. Also when a gun is in a holster it is safe. No need for extra safeties.
just happy to be here. I like talking about better ways to protect ourselves.
