F**K the CHP scales some of the worst ones in the nation. They find the stupidest crap just to write you a ticket. Chowchilla and the Banning scales are the absolute worst.

While I am glad in your eyes you had a positive or neutral LEO experience OP, I am disappointed that it even happened.

Next thing we know they will coming door to door for 'compliance checks'. They will make sure we don't have anything more than what the government gave us. They will make sure we have the mandatory picture of the supreme ruler over our fireplace and that it is free from dust and perfectly level.

I don't know that resisting or fighting over the legality of them completing a 'compliance check' is worth or time or freedom.

But collectively, as a group everyone laid down their arms, to me, that speak volumes.

You need a warrant signed by a judge to go into someone's residence or business. Criminal Procedure 101.

In the 1990's before the importation of Chinese ammo was banned, The Chi Coms made and imported some 7.62X51. It had copper washed steel cases and was corrosive primed. The earlier versions had a fake, reproduced head stamp of British "RG (Radway Green).

Some Later ammo had their normal head stamp, usually a "61" over a "92" and was still corrosive. Some of the last "Norinco" packaged 7.62X51 was marked as "non corrosive" with a head stamp of "C J 95".

I have two cans of the early Radway Green head stamped ammo. It's definitely corrosive.

Paranoid with good reason. It's not unreasonable to believe that an uneducated cop would think that a gun in a certain configuration is illegal and arrest you for possessing it. I'm very pro police; however in this state cops and law abiding gun owners are not a good combination. All it takes is an encounter with an ignorant cop and you might get arrested because your gun "looks" illegal.
