If a private party transfer doesn't go though and you already paid for the gun. What happens exactly?

If the seller isn't willing to refund your money, your out of luck, its a civil matter, maybe take them to small claims court.

But if your the buyer, you should know if its going to go through, is there reason to believe you might be prohibited or the gun is stolen?

If you know your GTG , and the gun is not stolen, it will go through.

Well that's true. The gun would be reported due to It being stolen. Would be nice if I could search up everything on it to make sure it's clear. But there is always a risk. I currently got a small claims court process going on right now with the person refusing to refund me my money. Spent $400 on a rugar 45. That's why I ask. I don't like dealing with the headache.

If the firearm comes back stolen the local PD will have it not the FFL. Lucky for all this is rare. In 40 years I have only had 2 guns ring the stolen bell.

The part that sucks there always could be a risk. That's what I hate. Would be nice without that kind of thing in the back of your mind though.

If it's reported stolen then you're SOL. Happened to my uncle. He purchased a firearm and it came back as stolen and was turned over to the sheriff's department. Turns out the owner had misplaced the gun and reported it stolen. He eventually found it but never contacted anyone so when he tried selling it the gun came back as stolen. The guy didn't want to bother with the paperwork or the hassle of getting the gun back and told my uncle "tough luck". Got a small claims judgment but those are pretty much unenforceable so he was out the money. The sheriff's department probably wound up destroying the gun and never filed any charges against the guy. That's probably a highly rare occurrence though.

That Sucks to deal with that kind of thing. I would hate to deal with it, but it's hard to trust someone you met online who wants you do a PPT lol but hey I guess it's all in the risk. I guess It's worth a try and hope for the best. Going to maybe purchase a gun through PPT sometime soon

Small claims judgements are quite enforceable unless the respondent is bankrupt or has no assets at all. Just have to put in the effort...
