    Sell it all?

Wife, 1 year old girl, boy on the way. I really dont ever see myself shooting in the next 5 years. Thinking of dumping everything (gunwise), buying or keeping 2 pistols for home defense / ltc.

      Sounds like a prudent decision.
It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.

But if you sold the kids you could buy more guns...

You don't see yourself going out to shoot or did you lose interest? Going out to shoot is my relaxing time away from the family when i can go hang out with some buddies or just go by myself.

i would feel guilty leaving my wife and kids while i go have fun on the weekend. That is family time. Kids are too young. I feel terrible now when i go shooting now. Cant imagine when the new baby comes. When they are older yes. But i like spending money. And owning guns i feel i would be throwing money in the wrong direction having such a young family.

I get it, but having time for yourself is as important as having time with your family. I see my time at the range like the time my wife spends shopping or at a spa, you know just have a good time and release some of that stress.

Imo, Keep a 3-gun setup, (pistol, shotgun, ar-15)as that is the foundation of autonomy and self defense, you don't know what the world will look like when your boy is 10. And .22's are 22's, they have lots of uses and I agree you should hang onto them since they aren't worth too much anyway.

sell the rest and the huge safe and ammo, buy a modest safe if you like or not, but I wouldn't recommend being unarmed with a family, and I wouldn't consider a few pistols adequately armed. Congratulations on your growing family.

                      Keep it.
Otherwise you risk being unable to afford the new prices or the Government making new purchases hard or illegal.

Keep it, share with your family as they get older.
Leave them to your children as an inheritance.

I agree do not sell, You will regret it in the long run. I had to sell many guns when I was younger and the wife and I made a pact with each other that we would never sell the guns again it is just to hard to reacquire them at a later date. You have the investment now hang onto it and then when the kids get old enough introduce them and pass it down.

                          Keep it.

You wont ever find the time, money, or excuses to replace it all.

I have a young son and another on the way too.

I'm doing the opposite though...buying more before the baby gets here

I started taking my son out when he was about 2.5. Started out with pellet guns and now up to 22's. No he doesn't shoot them, but I bring him with me and teach him the safety rules.

He now corrects his friends when they are playing with their dart guns..."You can't shoot or aim at people..." It was awesome to hear him retain the basic safety tips at such a young age.

                              Agree and Agree.

I have a healthy collection and could not see myself selling any (unless an insaino financial emergency hits). Due to family, I rarely get time to go plinking but if you are planning to stay in this state you may not be able to reaquire at a later point.
My opinion, keep and save for the little ones years down the road.
