    Single point M4 sling

I don't want to waste a bunch of money buying different slings for my M4forgery, so before I buy one...

Which one is the one used by the guys in Generation Kill that lets the rifle hang under the arm muzzle down?

Single point slings worn without web gear are a little unomfortable. The end of the loop has a tendency to ride against your neck.

That said, they might be something from Wilderness.

These are absolutely BOMBPROOF & the best out there. A bit pricey, but if you use the same QR mount on each rifle, then you only need 1 sling ("STEALTH" - very comfortable) that you can wear & transition from gun to gun in a "snap":http://www.tacticallink.com/Products.aspx?Cat=5

+100 Single point slings without web gear/plate carrier/chest harness sucks! It will rub your neck raw and get heavy fast! At Front Sight I was thanking god for the D rings in my chest harness by day two of a four day course.

Brownells also has single-point ("tactical") slings and adapters. I bought mine from them but haven't installed it yet. They even have a video on installing the sling adapter...

1 draw back is that single point sling could potentially let the tip of your barrel hit the ground if you kneel or squat down.

                    Are the bungie-type total garbage?

I have a blackhawk, and its not totally uncomfortable, I adjusted it. I had a single point sling attachment from promag, it didn't fit perfectly....but me and my dremel tool made it work. The sling itself is sturdy, not all rubber band like, even though it is a bungy.

The one I have has elastic too but it's not really that stretchy - seems to work a little better than just standard sling material.

Yes, total garbage in my experience. Once that protective sleeve that encloses the strands wears (which is quick), it will sever it completely in no time. Not to mention, the weight of the rifle stretches it so damn far.

The sling they use in GK is the CQD sling.

Extensively discussed in my other thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=94715

CQD has a dual loop mounting point at the rear where you connect the 2 HK hooks to. They also have a single loop you can put in front, therefore you can switch between 1 point and 2 points sling configuration.

They also have a weapon catch that you can wear on your belt, so you can drop your rifle with the 1-point sling configuration and have the rifle kind of secure. http://www.cqd.net/71CQDWC.php

The cons for the CQD sling system is that it is kind of noisy as the hooks and sling mounts bump into each other.

BDS Tactical makes a great single point 2 bungee sling system they are $40.00 and 100% U.S. made and come with a lifetime warranty . You can take a look on me site. But I just scored some U.S.G.I. black and od green cotton web 2 point slings . Ultra comfortable and $20.00 If you would like to see them I can post a pic. for ya. In my humble opinion 2 point slings still rule the day!!
