Rah.Fellow WireDawg here...well Tel-O now but that's my background.
On topic, I know there are 2 CrossFit gyms in your locale. I would have to get their exact location. You can also just hit the hils if you're in N. Hollywood as well. Once you're out there you can meet people doing different types of meetups as well.
Thank you so much, I would greatly appreciate it.Semper Fidelis.

That sounds a lot like what I'd like to do. Out here in the Santa Monica Mountains there are so many restrictions.Me and my buddy go to the desert a lot. Mainly northern Barstow area in the middle of nowhere and do long hikes carrying most of the gear we would have if we ever had to bug out on foot. Rifle slung, spare mags ammo pistol packed for real weight loads, etc etc...
Sure ya can lift weights all day and get buffed out. But nothing beats actually training like it was the real thing.
First time I started doing it I got like 300 yards til I needed to stop and catch my breath lol. Now we go miles and turn back only to get back to the truck befor its too dark or someone steals it.Semper Fidelis.

Parkside Crossfit is just off Sherman Way on Fulton, and Valley Crossfit is on Hayvenhurst between Sherman Way and Vanowen. I personally know both of the owners and both are fantastic gyms. They also have a free week if you want to try it out. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.Comment

I don't know if I'm "combat Fit" or not. As far as I know, fit is fit. I lift a couple of times a week, run about 3 miles twice a week and lately on the weekends or Friday afternoons I head up to the hills and put in 4-5 miles hiking up every hill I can find at a fast pace, no stopping to rest. The hiking is a great workout and lately when I carry my kayak up the hill at the end of the day it seems a lot easier.Comment

1. Look up community college weightlifting classes and boot camp classes. They usually run back to back in the mornings, like 0700-0800 boot camp cardio 0800-0900 weightlifting.
2. Find out professors for each. Schmooze the one that seems military friendly. Especially if they have a relative/friend in LEO or military.
3. Ask if you can audit the class. Usually you're supposed to have passed it already - if they require you to take it, it's usually a 1 unit course, and at a price of $30/unit/semester on average it's far cheaper than a gym membership.
4. Find out when community college you workout at has yoga classes.
5. Sign up for one. If 30 hot young college chicks in spandex doesn't motivate you to bust your rear in the other workouts I don't know what will.Your views on any given subject are the sum of the media that you take in, scaled to the weight of the credibility of the source that provides it, seen through a lens of your own values, goals, and achievements.

You obviously forgot about the ugly chick rule...for every 1 hot chick, there will be 6 ugly chicks... soooooo theres gonna be 1 smoking hot chick with a rocking body in spandex to 6 ugly chicks wearing baggy sweats to cover up their legs that they didnt shave...
Its a true fact, i just made it up, and im from the internet....

Nutrition + exercise
^Basically this. You just have to watch what ever fuel you put in your body, any physical activity & lifestyle. After getting out Marine Corps, I started lifting light weights with alot of reps and kept the running 15 miles a week. As i got older I toned down the weight lifts but upped the running by adding some hiking on the weekends. I just find that the crossfit training looks ridiculous and physically dangerous, another fad to get $$$. I know a couple of people who have gotten hurt because their bodies are not adapted to the strenuous acts for crossfit training. I remember busting tires on a "working party"
back in the day for a couple of days and my body aches to this day gives me goose bumps when I see people flipping tires at gyms.
