    Combat Fitness Program?

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to this forum. I have a question I do not know if it has been answered yet. I have been out of the military for about two years now, and I've gained quite a decent amount of poundage since I've been out (I'm sure a lot of my fellow veterans have experienced a similar weight gain). I am very interested in workouts like we did being in the Marines (i.e hiking and combat fitness circuits) and was wondering if anyone wanted to do it with me.
Also, The main question I have today is: In the military we did a lot of combat fitness that revolved around actual combat scenarios (running from over to cover with an empty weapon, moving and shooting scenarios) and was wondering where I can do workouts like this and if anyone was interested in showing me around and doing them with me. I live in the Los Angeles area, so anything that will consume the least amount of gasoline would be great. Looking forward to reading the responses!

      Unfortunately I'm a wireman...lol
In my defense I WAS in infantry and artillery units so I did my fair share of running around with the grunts and cannon cockers.

Check the community colleges, they usually have a bootcamp type fitness program.

Wiremen and Radio were always lumped together in the units I served with.
And yes, I do a lot working out (Insanity is now a daily habit) and on WeightWatchers now so eating pretty healthily is a change that I welcomed.
                Thank you!

Fellow WireDawg here...well Tel-O now but that's my background.

On topic, I know there are 2 CrossFit gyms in your locale. I would have to get their exact location. You can also just hit the hils if you're in N. Hollywood as well. Once you're out there you can meet people doing different types of meetups as well.

Me and my buddy go to the desert a lot. Mainly northern Barstow area in the middle of nowhere and do long hikes carrying most of the gear we would have if we ever had to bug out on foot. Rifle slung, spare mags ammo pistol packed for real weight loads, etc etc...

Sure ya can lift weights all day and get buffed out. But nothing beats actually training like it was the real thing.

First time I started doing it I got like 300 yards til I needed to stop and catch my breath lol. Now we go miles and turn back only to get back to the truck befor its too dark or someone steals it.

or just do it like we used to and pound some pavement.. or trails...

Work out all you want but if you need to control your weight then diet/nutrition is the key. Your mouth will always win over your workout.
