    .22 and my .02¢

I believe with all the .22 coming into walmart, online stores & the market, that By the end of April prices on .22lr should be back to normal.

Even on the market area .22s have been going down to prices like $40 dollars per pack.

    Just my .02

I'm not as optimistic. People are still rabidly clamoring for it. Some of the people that missed out on the initial hoarding opportunities will probably do so now with slightly lower prices and slightly higher availability. Maybe in a year?

Oh, hoarding is definitely still going on.

I stopped into my local walmart this morning at about 9:15 to pick up some cough suppressant and swung by the ammo counter just to check what was there, and was greeted with "you just missed it".

The clerk informed me that she put out 40 boxes of CCI 100 packs at about 7:30am and they were all gone before 9am.

What's funnier is why do they assume that every person who walks up to the case is looking for 22?

Maybe 'cause 90% of the people are?

I did see a post yesterday about this ammo. I just can't do it, its twice the money.

Shorts usually cost more and has now for awhile. Back in the Carter administration shorts were probably less than long rifle.

I have a feeling this duece duece thing is gonna keep on going for the next year and a half.

Elk Grove Walmart had Federal 550 packs for $25 and change on Tuesday. I know because I was right behind the guy in line who bought the last box.

Whats the difference between the two (sorry for the novice question).

Does the long pack more punch?

                      I can't wait until .22lr is back down to 2 cents a round ($.02 or 2 cents, not .02cents)

Brother, I guess because of all the semi auto guns these days there isn't much call for short. I wonder if any semi could even cycle short?

Back in the day all the shooting galleries used short for obvious reasons

The last box of short I\we shot, was last year, it had a Zody's price tag on it marked .99

HighWildFree, thanks for the links. After thinking about it for a while, I'm going to order a brick just for the heck of it.

for those doin the online watching thing with help from fellow calgunners 22 has gotten a lot better it appears from the posts. but walmart is still the same from what i see. this morning at one of the two salinas walmarts there was a decent line of folks waiting for 22 and there was no 22 in todays ammo shipment. meanwhile at the other salinas walmart 60 one hundred round boxes of cci mini mags came in.when the ammo came out there was 10 11 folks waiting in line and 10 of us were after 22. i got there at 10 till 6 and i was second in line and within 2 minutes 2 more folks came in and it escalated from there.

oops , and a guy i know from the ammo lines was asking us to sell him our 3 boxes of mini mags to him and he was willing to pay 15 bucks a box. i told him i wanted 400 more rounds to hit my goal and then i would be on the hunt for 22 for him at what it sold for and no extra. hes shooting in 22 matches and running very low. so hopefully next week i can get him some 22 and i did tell him to look on this site too

Yeah, hopefully you can get him some 22. I'm sure if you wait in line long enough you'll get all the ammo you and him need.

                              I'm guessing (hoping) your retired?
