Looking for a gun Safe !!!

Hey guys im looking for a gun safe in my price range no more than 400$ seen one at harbor freight, and one a bit smaller at home depot. Just looking for something to hold a couple rifles and a shotgun and a couple hand guns. Mainly looking to get one to prevent someone stealing my weapons when i am not home. Hopefully then Pit Bull that i keep in the house will help with this but just in case i want a safe. These are the 2 i was looking at.

What do you guys think any suggestions ??

Those safes wont prevent thiefs from stealing anything. Unless they are amateurs. Save your $ and buy once.

Don't make a mistake of a cheap safe.
A couple hammer strikes and it's open. I experienced that.

Look at a real safe store.
        Look at American security safes.
Look for safes that have a backup activated bolting system.
Ask about the burglar guarantee replacement if broken into.

Like others said, don't cheap out on a safe. They're an investment that will keep your valuables (not just firearms) protected from thieves, fire, floods, and nosy kids with quick hands.

However, only you can determine how much is enough and what will actually work. The links above will keeps kids off of your guns and will work as a good locking storage cabinet for your guns (IMO), but I would be very reluctant to put other valuables in there if you want them protected from burglars or from natural disasters like fire - those safes don't have an impressive fire rating, not compared to a lot of other safes that may be a few hundred bucks more.

Turner's has some decent safes on sale pretty often in the $800-$900 range.

You're looking at expensive file cabinets.
Go over to the subforum "Holsters, Safes, Lights and More" and open "2014 Sturdy Safe group buy" however the GB does close off at midnight tonight in case you or others want in.
These are real life time no frills safes, the smallest size is 24"W 19"D 60"H base priced $1031.00 before tax and shipping. On top of that will be the calguns to be announced discount. I'm in for the next size up-27"W 23"D 60"H based at $1249.00.
I took a tour of the mfg plant in Fresno and was very impressed with the products.

I got mine from Dean Safe since I needed a specific model for the area I was placing it. But there are some good deals at Costco.
