picked up thousands off 22LR and others from walmart..

I know ammo isn't what it was in the past. But over the last year I have not camped and waited for others like many do.
In the past 90 days I have been lucky by simply checking the ammo while I'm there shopping anyways.i make no extra effort or trips for ammo. I have a box from the ammo I've collected from walmart that I'm finally putting away with the rest of my ammo and was surprised at how much I got by simply checking out the ammo while I'm shopping. What I counted:
6,500 rounds of 22LR (including the 2k I scored today)
    2,300 rounds of 9mm
    1,200 rounds of brass 2.23/5.56
    200 rounds steel case .223

    That doesn't include the 7.62, 30-30 and 30-06 I've picked up.

So all I'm saying is do yourself a favor and check. Don't be greedy either. I had the opportunity to get 3K rounds instead of only 2k of 22LR but I let the other guy who was looking get it. He was very surprised I did that which is kind of sad these days people expect others to be greedy.

You go to Walmart waay too often for "other things."

How do you get 2K 22LR in one visit? Box limit, no?

Seems like 223 ammo is in stock at a variety of places.

Powder still seems like it is sold out at most places.

So you don't think buying 2000 rounds is a little much and contributing to the shortage?

That's barely 4 trips to the range for some people. 2000 rounds isn't much.

It seems you're another person who apparently only bought 1-2 boxes of ammo to take to the range at a time and never kept any on hand.

I was able to get 2k rounds because they had the 1000 round winchester boxes. Like I said, I could have got 3 boxes but when I was about to check out a guy walked up and saw how bummed out he was he came late so I told him to get a box and I got 2 instead.

                        *you're.

I go 2 or 3 times week. I do grocery shopping there and also work on my own cars so I get my oils, cleaners, clays etc etc from there and it's on the way to work.

Each 1000 round box was about $50

LOL. 4 bricks of .22lr isn't even worth my time to go to Walmart. Really, 2000 rounds is nothing and buying only 2000 rounds at once is not contributing to any shortage.
