Over 30 people so far. It increases the membership #s, which is SUPER important & gets money to the organization.

If everyone that is a member purchased two associate memberships for friends at a cost of $10 x 2...

we'd at least double our membership #s for next year.

Articles written in the MSM would write, "the NRA, which represents over 10 million Americans..."
This is a great idea. Many of us probably already buy birthday gifts/Christmas presents etc. toss in a 10 buck membership with it.

A discount is an excellent idea. Lets face it, people (especially Californians) like free stuff and discounts. IMO the numbers would increase a lot if people knew about some of the NRA discounts on rentals cars, hotels, and firearms insurance.

The only place I've been firearms related that asks for your NRA member number is ASR range. You get a couple bucks off range fees.

The things is this, we know that in California Democrat is outnumber Republican. We have left wing/progressive but we also have a lot of moderate Democrat and most of moderate Democrat are gun owner. The left wing/progressive had create an image that NRA is associated with right wing. I know for a fact that totally BS image. If we can shake the wrong image planted by leftist, I'm sure a lot of moderate Democrat will join NRA. One of the reason moderate Democrat won't join NRA because of this BS image.

If you want to boost NSA membership, introduce another gun control bill.

Interestingly enough, NRA membership in California is pretty consistent with membership rates a Ross the country. One would think that with the well orchestrated and successful attack on the RKBA in California that gun owners would be uniting their influence under the NRA's umbrella but they are not. Tar fact is not lost on the democrats passing these draconian loads in Sacramento. I suspect that they view statewide NRA membership as the proverbial "canary in the coal mine" and as long as NRA membership does not spike, they have the political mandate to continue continue to restrict and demolish the 2nd Amendmlent in California.

I think what the NRA has to do is eliminate any connection to/endorsement of ANYTHING but firearms / RKBA issues and frame it on equal footing with the 1st and 5th amendments and in fact the ultimate guarantor of the 1st amendment, the 5th amendment and all the others. I fact this latest NSA scandal is proving all the paranoid RKBA folks right IMHO.

The anti's know how to hurt the NRA and have down so very effectively, even to the point of using professional or volunteer shills in this forum; divide and conquer; semi auto rifle owners, hunters, plinkers, hunters, shotgun to etc...

I'd offer the free associate membership as a free option, but they'd pay the full price regardless.

While i like what the NRA does to preserve our gun rights, i wish they'd stop trying to sell me all kinds of junk i don't need. I get more junk mail from them than i do from anywhere else, and i paid for it! Come on NRA - enough with the junk mail and odd offers, you're almost as bad as good ole Ignatius Piazza. But really, no one is as bad as Iggy Piazza.

Opting out is pretty easy. It's also the worst excuse out of all of them that people who refuse to participate use. At least a completely fallacious, but fervently believed, misperception about the NRA involved in non-RKBA issues has some basis in a stance of some sort. "I'm too lazy to call them" is not a good excuse.

How about a CG thread where we post our NRA membership number and see how many posts we get?

NSA membership? That's free for some people.

Yep. I find it funny so many people whine about one more envelope coming to their mailbox. Do you call Ralph's,Pennysaver, and food places about their weekly ad.

Please don't do this...I know that many gun clubs require NRA membership to joing the clubs. Don't give the reloader NRA numbers to use elsewhere.

                          Cheers
