    But I think you need to quantify the problem.

    First, define 'kids'.

    Then, discover how many of those who fit the definition are injured or killed in accidents involving firearms.

    Then, subset that group to those whose injury occurred either in the home or with a firearm obtained at home, and the person using the firearm was unauthorized to access the firearm. I'd further exclude folks who were committing a crime when the 'kid' was injured; hot burglary, home invasion, drug-dealing, that sort of thing.
