Christmas carry almost a nightmare

I travel to Texas several times a year to visit my son and always carry when in Texas. Those folks are very friendly and will ask you anything and are extremely touchy feely. I found it very unnerving when a total stranger walks up to you and puts their hands on you. It has helped me to be more aware of my surroundings in comfortable friendly surroundings. Now when I anticipate someone approaching, I simply turn towards them facing them and deal with them face to face at arms length in a polite manner.

It's weird, if you don't change your position to face on, they think it's an open invitation to touch you. When I turn to a face on position, they usually stop with some space between us. No, I'm Californian born and bred. My son is currently stationed in Texas with the US Army. Friendly people though.
