    Christmas carry almost a nightmare

Christmas morning I went out to breakfast with my family. I was discreetly carrying, IWB at 4 o'clock. As we were standing around waiting for a table, a stranger, a grandmotherly type old lady, walks up to our group to talk to us. In a somewhat too familiar gesture, she puts her left hand on my right hip (4 o'clock exactly ) as she starts talking to my FIL about how funny his t-shirt is. As her hand is touching nothing but the grip of my Glock 26, I fully expect her to freak out and yell, "He's got a gun! He's gonna kill us all!!!" But completely oblivious to what she is actually touching, she keeps right on talking and leaves her hand right on my Glock. Not wanting to look like anything is wrong, I calmly reached back with my right hand, took her gently by the wrist, pulled her hand off the gun, and held her hand in my two hands in a gesture that said, "Golly, you're a sweet old lady; I sure wish you were my grandma." Crisis averted.

I'm not sure what to take away from this, other than to try to be more situationally aware so as to prevent that hand from getting there in the first place. But who expects a complete stranger to approach you and put her hand on your hip? Anyways, just thought I'd share.

Maybe she thought she got lucky when she grabbed you and felt something stubby, round and hard? Good thing you were only carrying the 26, otherwise you might have really had some trouble with the old lady!

Perhaps she is used to self defense tools.
Believe it or not, a much greater % of older people compared to our generation understand guns are just another tool. For the non-hippies anyway.

Should have grabbed her arm and spun it into an arm lock, screamed she assaulted you and drawn down on her! Or carry on as you did. Either way stay vigilant.

You're lucky you weren't wearing a crotch holster. Oh granny!

You were probably printing, and she just wanted to let you know without saying it out loud.

                    Sorry, not sorry.

Joined my sister at her church once and the pastor came up and put his arms around my wife and I and thanked us for coming.

I was carrying 3 o'clock IWB and his hand was directly on my gun. I noticed a little facial expression but eh didn't say anything and I didn't freak out.

Grandma probably had a snubnose .38 in her purse and she liked you the moment she saw you printing.

Odds are she put her arm around you to determine if you had a 9mm or a .40 under your shirt.

                        Go grandma!

General rule- Dont touch complete strangers, especially other people's children.
