Small collector looking to round out.

Looking to complete a 1 of the basics needed for all round fun and protection.

    I own

    Glock 19
    Smith an wesson 686 .357 6" revolver
    OPAP AK47
    Mossberg 500 shotgun

What should I be adding next or to round out with? I know I need a .22 thinking a mark III pistol? Or 10/22 rifle?

Some sort of long range "sniper" hunting rifle? Suggestions?

Hmmmm????? Tax money and vacation pay coming up in the same month.

Lever action 22! Good nostalgia and you check off the 22box!

And a 1911! No collection is complete without a fullsize 45.

I think Henry has some nice ones. Give me a sec I'll grab a link.

The H1 Classic lever action rifle fires .22 S/L/LR or .22 Magnum, ships from Wisconsin, and leads .22 lever action sales worldwide.

And since it's a tube fed magazine you can legally have over 10rounds in it in CA!

          That's a good start. I'd start with a 22LR target pistol and a 18 or 20 inch AR15 next.

If you want to spend time and money modifying it, a Ruger 10/22

If you just want to put a scope on it and call it a day, Marlin 795, but know the stock irons suck.

a .22 rifle is a cheap - less than $200 way to round out your collection

              fun, cheap easy to shoot

can get it for under $30 on sale

              or

.22 BSA sweet scope for under $40 on sale

hold off on the AR until you move out of state

great rifle to spend a long time at the range at 100' and under having a great time

great rifle to hand to a newbie with the red dot on and watch them have fun

I own .308, 223, but .22 if the most fun with friends

I can't believe someone on this forum just said that.

Toss up now... Can I throw a scope on a ruger 10/22 and call it a day or are more mods needed for a note enjoyable plinking session?

                  Henry lever actions look fun!

Since I'm trying to round out I think the AR would be after a 22 rifle and or pistol addition

Thinking the ak has the battle rifle semi auto covered in the basic food group of firearms.

                  Torn..

                  Ruger 10/22 scoped
                  Vs
                  Henry lever action
                  Vs
                  Ruger mark III pistol ????

                    Thinking about a sniper rifle....take a look at the Remington 700 in 308 or a m1a.

                      Oh? Are you a sniper?

I would get a long range bolt gun or an AR

What most gun fanatics usually have in their collections. Some you already have.

The popular basics in no particular order:

                        1911
                        Bolt Action Rifle
                        Ruger MKIII or Browning Buckmark
                        AR-15
                        Ruger 10/22
                        Pump Action 12g Shotgun
                        AK-47
                        Ruger Mini 14
                        M1A
                        Revolver
                        9mm or .40 SemiAuto pistol

It really depends on what you plan on doing with your firearms...

If you enjoy your pistols the most, then a nice .22 pistol is a great way to build up accuracy skills.

If you enjoy your AK the most, then a .22lr rifle is a lot of fun. They do make some 22lr rifles are that "AK"-shaped also if you like that form factor.

If you like your shotgun, then a longer barrel can turn your "HD" pump into a fun trap/skeet gun.

A hunting rifle is fun, but you have to decide what you want to hunt with it first as that really decides what kind you get. Are you hunting paper targets? Dimes at 250 yards ? Maybe something with some meat in it?

I enjoy the AK but not for acuracy shooting, though I hit mass with iron sites and imperfect vision lol

I much more enjoy plinking with the ak at 40 yards tin cans and trying to follow up shot before it hits the ground.

I enjoy the pistol for target practice at shorter range, I'm not thy great past 15 yards with my glock.

I borrow a mark III when I take my daughter shooting and enjoy plinking .22
