    DPMS Vs. RRA LPK's

Which is better? All I need to finish my build is my LPK, My local shop has DPMS parts kits in stock and he says they are the same as Rock river, Is this true? I have till next Friday to buy one and I cant decide.

nothing wrong with DPMS ... my buddy and I have been involved with about 14-15 AR builds..helping out others since we have all the punches and tools. we've only used DPMS lpk's..everything fit and worked. now I haven't tried other brands..but I personally see no reason to switch since they've all been good functional rifles.

go ahead and use DPMS with confidence.....

I have them both. Anyone who says they are the same has never put them both together. The DPMS trigger feels different (not bad, just different), but more importantly the trigger guard roll pin is a mother to beat in.

If it were my money, I would go RRA. Will the DPMS work? Yes? Do I build customer guns with DPMS? Yes. There is a difference, but if all your local guy has is DPMS, just support him for supporting you and get one.

One of the benefits of the DPMS LPK is that you can use the lower for both 223 and 9mm uppers (colt and RRA style).

I had issues with the DPMS parts kit. Nothing major, I just remember putting everything together to be far more unpleasent than with a Stag LPK.

That said, if you can get teh DPMS parts kit now and want it, get it. There's nothing inherently *wrong* with it.

Quality parts and a nicer bolt catch.

DPMS roll pins are a pain. I would go with the RRA.

Guys, all you have to do is squeeze those pins a little with a vice or pliers, and they'll go in every time.
