Found something interesting out about my XD9..

If the serial number is right, leave it be. The XD service and tactical are great pistols. The sub compact was OK, but I didn't like the short grip and didn't shoot it enough to get used to it, as it belongs to a friend.
I have 30,000+ rounds through mine. A 40 cal bitone service model, bought in 2005. I am running a 155 grain lead semi wad cutter bullet at right around 1000 fps, for now. It is a great 3 gun pistol.
It needs a new striker retaining pin and I will probably change the extractor as well, since the pistol is a 40 and I am getting some failures to extract when I run my Barsto 9mm barrel. The 40 cal barrel runs great.
My brother has the 40 tactical and my mom has the 9 service, while my friend has the 40 sub compact.

Thanks
Pistol gear makes the magwell and rubber slam pads to extend the mags. They also make the extended slide release.
My gunsmith did the extended mag release and 3.25 pound trigger job. He also machined the slide and installed the bomar cut dawson fiber optic sights. The barsto barrel was also bought from the same guy and he hand fit it to the pistol.
The XD is a solid platform and is my favorite, when modified. I haven't had a chance to try one of the XDm pistols that are already prepped for competition.
I have shot 1911's and 2011's in both limited and open configurations, and I still don't have a big desire to upgrade. If I was made of money, then a high end limited pistol would be in my collection also.
The magwell is very big, but it is made of aluminum. I wear size medium gloves, so my hands are not real big. It actually helps keep my hand nice and high on the grip. The magwell can be removed with an allen wrench and you would never know it was on the gun. I haven't touched the mounting screws since I put it on. The rubber pads on the magazines help to cushion the base plate when they fall to the ground, sometimes with a lot of ammo still in them.
Have fun with your XD!He who dies with the most tools/toys wins

I second this. In my safe: XD9 service 4" and tactical 5", XDM 9 and 45, XDS 45. No issues with FTF, FTE, etc, I had one failure of the slide to lock back after the last round with the tactical, likely due to user error. Just an FYI, XD subcompact is 3 inches not 3.5. I would not worry at all about reliability. If, by chance, it does have any issues sell it and move on.All posts dedicated to the memory of Stronzo Bestiale

I bought my XD9 Tactical used off a buddy who put 1000 flawless rounds through it. Ive since put at least 3-4000 flawless rounds through it. I even tried to make it jam by shooting 1500 rds through it without cleaning it but it laughed at me and kept on going bang. I absolutely love this gun, and have no qualms trusting my life with it. Lifetime warranty as well, cant beat that.Welcome to OT, where hypocrisy is King, outrage is Queen and the Kingdom is on the shores of the Denial River.

So, I sent OP a PM about the grip extensions that he no longer had a use for. He agreed to sell them to me for a very fair price. I sent the money, he promptly gave me good iTrader feedback and shipped them out immediately.
But here is the kicker. For no additional charge he included some very cool stickers, one of them even a CGN sticker. This guy is all class, no doubt about it!
Thank you sir, I believe that I will enjoy the gifts more than the extensions!Originally Posted by FF/EMT Nick
