They aught to be good since they are about 5 times what I paid for my VooDoo.

The cost does go down if you consider the lifespan of each item .

The Zeigal case will last decades ! The fabric cases( not voodoo) I've owned have broken zippers and handles falling off.
For me the cost of a secure, durable lifetime case was worth the price.
For added security when traveling, I run a cable through the case and lock it to
the trunk hinges !

If memory serves me correct, it would require a warrant to examine the contents of the locked, secure aluminum case .

I have 5.11 and voodoo - 5.11 is much, much better. Very sturdy build.

I got a purple Voodoo for my wife at the Del Mar gun show for $65, wholesale according to the seller. Yes, the straps do slip a bit more than other brands, but it's purple!

I originally had a Voodoo 42" and was disappointed by the padding around the exterior. The bag wouldn't stand on its own if you set it down upright so if I didn't have a wall or anything to lean it on it would just fall over if I had to set it down while carrying it. The Condor one I have has a thicker pad all around the edges that's more sturdy. I think I've decided that I don't like the front pouches either since I usually have a separate range bag to carry extras in, so on the Condor I can remove them, not so much the Voodoo.

Good info. I think my Cabela's bag will stand now that I added three pouches - definitely when full, but it was "floppy" too. The Voodoo does seem thin. I will add a few to the molle on the voodoo to add more storage and add thickness. I don't expect it to be a hard case. I got soft cases on purpose.

What I didn't like about the Voodoo was that the 3 outer pouches were an integral part of the bag and couldn't be removed, while the outer pouches on the Condor were molle compatible.

That being said, I would take either over the Explorer any day of the week.

OP, have you solved the issue with the back straps? Hopefully it was just a matter of feeding the straps through the buckles correctly?

Good to know. I don't mind any case with sewn in pouches, but it is nice to have the room to add more. The Cabela's one has the large center pouch sewn on, but comes with two removable pouches too. I added two more like pouches and a Voodoo IFAK case, which pretty much used up the extra space.

Have you checked out the Explorer double/triple rife case - the one with the shooting mat divider? I haven't seen it in person, but it doesn't look horrible in pics or on paper. 600D with YKK zippers IIRC. I'm good on soft cases now, but just curious.

Hard cases I have a bunch up to a Pelican 1650, but who wants to lug those things around all the time.
