Im going to white out my sheet take a picture and post it . They did hand gun safty demonstration with a guy piccking up and ask him what a stove pipe was and a double feed. They never had him lock the glock or load and unload it! ,I want to put,a,shop next door to them I would take all their customers in 6 months or less! Anyone want to do a,small business loan?

        Your preaching to the choir.

Your talking about completing this junk first before the 4473.

Even at Big5 you can buy a rifle in about 15 minutes.

I did a ppt there that took 2 hrs! They say they are "a range first, gun shop second" and anyone doing ppt will have to wait while they help other customers. Add to that triple checking paperwork, unnecessary paper work, know-it-all staff and it's a recipe for disaster. For goodness sake, they not only check ID for ammo purchases they actually fill out a form with your name, adress, DL! Perhaps the ONLY saving grace is that they are open late, just in case you need to do a ppt at 10 pm.

I thought the state set the transfer fee at $25? Isn't charging $45 a violation of state law. Disclaimer, I don't live in this communist state ....

The PPT fee is set at 10 dollars max + 25 bucks for DROS

I bet the extra 10 dollars is some BS storage fee.

I bet you would make money. There is a niche in the market that needs to be filled and you have found it. If you don't do it, somebody in the bay area will. It's a sure thing business.

I stopped by one afternoon as I was somewhat near by and ended up picking up some cleaning supplies. You have to fill out one of those stupid forms just as if you were renting a gun (DL info). No fill, no purchase. Their rules. I won't be going back.

Unfortunately that is very normal for that place. There was a time when it was a decent shop/range. That time was almost 20 years ago. Last time I went in to shoot there I immediately did an about face in the range and demanded a refund and left. 3 feet into the bays and I was muzzle swept by a new shooter with a live weapon.

The only thing they have going for them is they tend to have a good inventory at very competitive prices. I would have to be in real need of a very hard to find item that they happened to have in stock and my LGS couldn't get, for me to every go back there.

I haven't been in there in 20 years when I worked in the Milpitas area, but it sounds like things haven't changed.

Last week was my first experience at Metal Dog and they were fast, friendly and super nice to me. I would go back, thumbs up!

They were a great shop up until ~10 years ago when the original owner's son took over. They used to have good prices on consignments and other guns. The range was a lot safer too since their RO was on everyone's a**es. The older lady was one of the nicest gun store employees. Very warm and loving. I miss the old days

all good recommendations -- RMB, Metal Dog all good to go.

don't go to annie's guns if you have anything off-roster. the big fat guy there who drinks from the 100oz jug (I believe his name is "Rich") might scare your buyer away

                              not on roster? Illegal
                              SSE? Illegal
                              Not carried by store? Illegal
                              Mag rebuild kits? Illegal
                              something made past 1980? Illegal
something he doesn't know about? Illegal

Yes I carry a grudge. the guy basically ruined a PPT deal for me. when was the last time you had a store scare the potential buyer away?
