If it's a major brand like Liberty, call the manufacturer. My cousin had to fax Liberty his dad's death certificate and they sent someone out to open it free.

Just look for a local safe tech. I had one open one of my safes a few years ago when the keypad broke, and I found one that did work for one of the local safe companies.

I will say, that I like my new Cannon that has a back up manual lock as well as a keypad.

If it's a normal S&G dial combo lock, a good locksmith will have an automatic dialing machine. Sometimes it takes 3 days but it will get it open without damaging the safe.

FYI to all: NEVER leave a safe with a locksmith to open when you are not present!!!! I am a PI and retired LE; many dealing with these situations.

I can destroy (open) ANY safe within minutes.

I can destroy any safe within seconds ... but I don't think that's terribly productive.

If its just a gun safe and you just want to get to the contents an angle grinder will have it open in minutes. Hell, if it's not bolted down you can put it on it's back and have a friend help you open it with a couple of pry bars, takes about a minute of prying. Unless it's a real safe, in which case call a locksmith. If you pry the door open a locksmith can repair it for you.
