It's a conspiracy. The Russian mafia cabal at WalMart has been going around unscrewing the caps of all sorts of random household chemicals in an attempt to undermine confidence in the US economy.

These people can usually be found working undercover at all WalMarts as cleaning associates. Do not approach them...they speak no English. Call your local office of the FBI.

I don't know who tampered with the solvent, but I bet it's the same Adam Henry who plays the juke-box during Monday Night Football at The Stagger Inn.

            I know I do.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. You might try Febreze to get to smell out. I don't know if it will work, but it might be worth a try. If it doesn't, it can always be used for other things.

Call a local car detailer and have him check out your car. A good mobile detailer should have access to pro-quality cleaning supplies which should probably get that smell out. Sorry about your car!

For some reason when you said hatchback, I imagined a brand new 2014 Subaru STi's interior getting soaked in Hoppes. RIP.

I am positive this was no accident. been cleaning for 4 days and the fumes will not go away no matter what i do. this is not wall marts fault it was tampered with. their is no reason to open gun cleaning solvent and peal open the seal at a store.
Someone probably opened it in the store to check what it smelled like, if strong, etc. I've seen that dozens of times at gun stores; dudes opening the cleaners to smell them. Always been a concern since Hoppes No. 9 is so strong.

About a year ago my father in law bought laundry detergent from Costco. When he got home he noticed the entire gallon of laundry detergent had leaked onto the back seat of his tundra. At least it smelled good!

I bought 8 quarts of Mobile1 5w30 at Wally World. One was opened with old oil. Always check the seal.

Sounds like a crackhead playing scratch and sniff.

after cleaning the area of the spill, try using baking soda to neutralize the odor; place a few open boxes inside your vehicle, and in a few days there will hopefully be a noticeable improvement.
