    PPT fees under $35?

Anyone know CA FFL's that charge LESS than the $25 plus the max $10 that goes to them? I know one that chargers like $25 +6 for LE. IIRC Turners charges $30 but I'd rather have my teeth pulled w/o anesthesia that do a PPT at Turner's.

$35 is the cheapest I have seen anywhere. I can't imagine places not charging the $10, they are a business and it does take up some resources for them to do it.

All my PPT experiences at Turners and Ammo Bros have been painless and profesional. The only negative experience I have had is at Gun World in Burbank, they charged me $30 for storage, so total was $55. I didn't know at the time that is more than they are supposed to charge. So that is the only place I will never use again.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

City Arms in Pacifica once charged me $0 but I'm sure that was just a professional courtesy.

      Great guys at City Arms

I only charged myself $25 the few times I have done PPTs or sold guns to other guys through my shop as a PPT. Otherwise, I am making at least $10 on it!

I've done a few PPTs with no extra charge (just the $25), and out of courtesy and thanks I hand them the extra $10 for just being good guys. Just like I won't take my return business to someone who tries to rip me off, I'll willing give my money away to someone trying to be a good guy and help us out.

You are correct, I checked their website and it is the full $35. When their system isn't "down" for PPT's, LOL!

                Question?

bylaw do both parties have to go to the same place to do a PPT? or can PPT be done in 2 separate locations?

example: I live in LA, I'm trading a gun with a person who lives in SF? same state but to far to meet @ one shop.

                  PPT means Person to Person.

Same Bat time Same Bat Store.

In your example, you use the FFL of the buyer. The 30 day 1 gun rule applies. If you do a PPT no 30 1 gun rule. You can buy as many handgun a month as you want through PPT.

Then you have to ship it to an FFL near him and it will be done as a used gun dealer sale.

The reason is because you both have to be present to give information for and sign the DROS.

The FFL that transferred my OLL only charged me $25 (for the background check, not $25 + $25), not sure why...

I'm surprised Big 5 didn't charge more for a 4 long gun transfer. I wonder if this is normal or a mistake on their part. IIRC another calgunner tried this and they said no. It may have not been a true ppt situation though.

I've done 2 ppt's at turners in redondo beach (i was buying). they charge $31 and change for it. Wasn't so bad both times, so I actually wouldn't mind going there in the future.
