    Can I buy this?

I want to buy a Wilson Combat Ultralight Carry Compact from them directly. I see that they have a list of California approved pistols, but that is not one of them. Can I still get one?

    Not easily.

Since they seem to be in Arkansas, the gun would be an interstate transfer, them to your favorite CA FFL and on to you. That ordinarily requires a handgun to be on the Roster.

Wilson may be willing to SSE (see the sticky in Handguns Forum) the gun. Otherwise, buying directly from them doesn't work.

Wilson won't SSE directly. Call George at MI Gunslingers. He is well familiar and supportive of the SSE process. And as a WC Master Dealer, he has great pricing. Better than you would get from buying from WC directly.

Please pardon my somewhat newb question:

Can someone clarify what SSE stands for?

It's not on the list of abbreviations and I can't seem to find my decoder ring.

Kinda pricy for a CCW piece. A Glock or S@W etc would do just as good and you wouldn't be out $3000.00 when the piece gets confiscated.

Really? you suggest a glock or a smith when he clearly wants a Wilson.

                      A. Perhaps he actually knows what HE wants and has preferences that exclude GLocks and S&W's. Such as wanting a thinner grip, single action trigger or external safety.

                      B. Perhaps he considers it "money well spent" if he survives a lethal encounter and has to wait a while to get his pistol back. More than likely he has others he can carry while he waits.

                      C. The cost of your firearm will be insignificant compared to the cost of the attorney(s) you'll probably need to represent you in criminal and/or civil proceedings following a shooting.

This is crazy talk! I vomited a bit when I read Glock.

You carry the gun that is most reliable and that you shoot best. Whatever that happens to be. If the police confiscate it after it just got done saving my life and/or the lives of my family, they can keep the damn thing for all I care. Even if it is a $5K Heirloom Precision full custom. And it will still be the best money I have ever spent. Your life is worth it!
