Um, Yeah, I think you're screwed by the California Not Unsafe Handgun Roster on this one. Girson is not on the list.

IMHO you can't go wrong with RIA 1911.

My parents are from Greece, cant buy anything turkish or my dad will kill me. My dad loved his colt python and his colt 1911 back in 70s and 80s....I have a springfiel 1911 and its awesome just likes wilson combat mags only though... u csn find a nice used American 1911 in the market place and right now is the time to buy.... you can get a good deal because everyone blew their loads of cash on Rifle stuff the past year and everyone is broke bad time to be selling....people are desperate. Got a used hk 45 usp cause he wanted to go on a trip with his wife offered him a price and a few days later he accepted my offer... took it home 10 days later cleaned it thoroughly and its practically brand new date code 2011 only 2 yrs old or so. Hunt for a couple weeks if you cant get a good deal I guess go this route. Good luck

SSE is easy enough for him to find in Bakersfield but it looks like he was shopping on Bud's and they won't ship off-roster guns to CA.

This is one of the few times where "buy American" will pay off.

                  Hard chrome is really tough

Properly done anyway. I bought a turkish shotgun from Legacy Sports and it is well made and works flawlessly. The turks have a long history of firearms manufacturing and have some quality stuff.
