    .45ACP which is most liked?

Ok I'm about to buy a .45acp and boy I tell you what I love both of em but which is fav pick of this community between the two. Will the chrome ( hard chrome finish) easily get scratched and or will the black get scratched revealing the metal underneath? The chrome btw is $70 more.

Is it polished or hard chrome? I can't tell by the pic. What is the black finish on the other?

If you link to the manufacturer's web site you'll probably get better responses.

I've got a hard chrome 1911 and it is an excellent finish. Used it for several years in IDPA and 3 gun comps and it still looks great.

I've heard Turkey has been improving the quality of their firearms over the last couple of years but I know nothing about that particular manufacturer.

You're trying to buy a $500 1911 from Turkey. Expect both finishes to be **** and you won't be disappointed.

get the black version, its a cheaper 1911, and the black will probably be more durable.

Are you buying it from buds? I ask because it says they can't ship to ca due to being off roster.

If you shoot it, they'll both end up with some "character". Buy the one you like most.

Buy the least expensive quality (reliable) model you can find .
Personally I would reject the picitinny rail underneath !

I'd get the chrome if it will be a safe queen, I'd get the black (like my 1911) if it will be a shooter.

Turkey produces some nice weapons and finishes as well, I know nothing about those 45's tho and would do some MAJOR research first. You can get a known brand for that price and a upper end brand for just a bit more.

Hard chrome (not nickel plating) is an excellent handgun finish. The only thing I like better is nitride treatments and I usually go two-tone with nitride slides and hard chrome frames.

As you can imagine, the magwell is a high wear area on most guns due to the metal to metal contact between the mag and frame. I have a hard chrome gun and this has certainly been a high wear area for me.

There are some finishes/treatments out there that still provide a measure of rust protection once they have been worn away. Unfortunately, Hard Chrome is not one of them. This isn't a huge problem but I do need to pay attention to this area. I make sure it's kept clean and cleaned immediately after a range session and before it goes back into the safe. A generous coating of Renaissance Wax in between range sessions keeps this are rust free.
