          As long as you do not ground yourself or make yourself part of the circuit you will not get shocked(AC or DC.) If they held the gun with one hand and the terminal of the battery with the other they would not be happy.

                    Aluminum is actually an excellent conductor of electricity. I'd bet money that it's better than steel.
