I've never been searched. I drive up with my window down, and speak to the BP agent....they generally tell me to "have a nice day". I don't give them any reason to f@$k with me, and they generally don't!

just came back from the desert last night. The checkpoint on the 8 in Campo.
I pulled up and the Agent had such a thick Mexican accent I could hardly understand him speak English. He told me that I was lucky I picked the empty lane. It took me three times asking him what he said to finally understand him through his accent.
I ended up pulling him over and searching his Patrol vehicle. LOL
Just kidding about the last part, but seriously, I could hardly understand his English, it was that bad. I almost wanted to tell him to just ask me in Spanish instead.sigpic

Know your Rights!!! There violating your rights with warrant less searches, a nazi style checkpoint asking for papers. Remember they work for you, you've done nothing wrong by driving on a highway funded by tax payers. Every time I pass through the Nazi Pendelaton Checkpoint, I don't tell them citizenship and repeat am I free to go. If they tell me pull over to Inspection, I tell them NO. Then we go round and round till they stop violating law and let me pass so they can't extort an oblivious economic slave !!!Comment

When I worked at San onofre, I got stopped one time at the checkpoint at 430 am on my way into work.
Had to lean over and roll down the window to have the BP agent ask me in a Mexican accent if I had my proof of citizenship. I asked him if he had his proof of citizenship. He grumbled and waved me on.
Was definitely my beater camaro. Thought it was hilarious it was the Mexican accent BP agent to question me out of the hundreds of times I just got waved through. I'm Mexican also but 2nd generation from legal immigrants.Comment

I think the point these guys are trying to make is to draw a line in the sand and not give up their rights from this point forward. The fear is that the police will someday be able to stop and search you, your car, your house without probable cause or a search warrant and they are trying to make a stand. Not saying I do the same thing but I do see their point and respect it for not being sheep.

It's 100 miles and the Pacific Ocean is considered a border. International waters are 12(?) miles out? Or is that 20 miles?
