I recently watched this video and was disturbed about the attempt of US boarder and customs "officers"??? to gain access into vehicles and force people to search areas.

What exactly is their police powers and are they legally allowed to detain you if you refuse to allow them access or refuse to identify?

I hate these nimrods thinking they're the heros or something because they pull up with a camera and want their 15 mins of fame on youtube. These same nimrods would be complaining of the drug smugglers and illegal immigrants sneaking in through the border.

Like that other douche that rolled up to a checkpoint and refused to lower his window or say anyting for what 30+ mins holding up the rest of the traffic till they broke the window, that's a usual sign that your hiding something. Meanwhile as they have their attention on that douche, Pepe driving by the check point is glad that they got that douche instead him with 5 bundles of weed because they're busy with the douche.

Neither ICE nor CBP enforce any gun laws. Same as local cops don't enforce immigration / customs laws. They only may search the car if they have warrant or reasonable cause.
If you refuse to pop up the trunk, most possibly they will get the service dog to sniff around. They may also detain you, if they a reason to suspect you might be in the country illegally.

It's actually the I-5 freeway at San Onofre (called the San Clemente Border Patrol Station). and It's 67 miles from the Mexican border.
